Oh Willie, if I had a six I would give it to you in a minute. This is absolutely beautiful and shows such love as it made my heart so full as I read it. Lol, I was beginning to think that I was never going to find it as it is on page nine. Whoa you have so many that I wanted to stop and read, but I am kind of crunched for time. However this was so worth the search and as lovely of a son poem that I have ever read. He is indeed a "chip off the ole block," as they say and obviously the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm not trying to be funny, as he not only looks like you, but he is a mini you, but all grown up and become a wonderful man. Please except my virtual six and thank you for this wonderful poem about how much your son means to you as well. Sometime when I have a chance, I will come back and read more as so many of yours looked like some of mine.
Btw, I did read your poem about God and Santa, and it was great. I recently had one called Jesus and Santa, almost on the same order. Thanks again my awesome friend!

What love and pride! I could make a similar statement about my own amazing son, who over came horrible troubles early in life. I see all those awards and agree it deserves them.

A very well-written rhyming poem about the son you have that is not only your son but your best friend too. Maybe he is just in your imagination, that is the only place anyone can be perfect with no failures.

I really like the poem for content. I have only one son but he is a good one. I can identify with the verse. I believe all poetry should rhyme. I have written a small number of free verse but I don't much. I see free verse as a short story with small sentences. Great Job -Robert-

Hi Willlie, You're a lucky man to have such a son in your life. I always wanted to have a daughter too. I was so sure my boy was a girl that his name was just a back-up. HER name was what I called HER all through the time I was pregnant with HER! LOL, When SHE was born and they said, "Congratulations! It's a BOY! I wasn't disappointed... just confused... she was a boy! LOL

Boy or girl, they are a treasure. I'll tell you a story I have never told anyone else. Back in my day, all the old farm women thought they
could tell whether girl or boy. they told my mom she would have a girl. My grandma's first name is Orpha, my mom's middle name was Lucile. They had planned to name me Orpha Lucile. God intervened and of course I was a boy. I told my mom, If I had been
a girl and they hung that name on me, i would have been the first suicide in the family. SHHHHH, DON'T TELL ANYONE!

I'd have been in line at the town hall to change my name at the ripe old age of 3!

Powerfully expressed love of a father for his son. Bonding such as this is more precious than anything and it is a great joy when the feelings are reciprocated. Few men express their feelings with such eloquence.
