I don't smush my words thankfully, it annoys me because there's no punctuation haha. Your poem proves a very good point and was fun to read, Great job!

Hah! Rachelle!
I have never heard of "word smushing," but I am in your court! So annoying, but I would have to add that expressions like "fam," "lol," "bff," etc. are right up there with "word smushing." And when "educated" individuals employ such expressions, I would enjoy "smushing their faces!"
Thank you!

HAHAHAHA!! Why, Mrs. KT! I believe it bothers you even more than it does me!!! (I invented the term in order to write this poem, by the way. So that's why you'd never heard of it before.)
Thanks for this terrific review. xo

LOL! It's almost like they're in such a hurry that they just 'press the button' of three different words/greetings offered by the texting/typing app they're using.... that way they don't have to think about it! ;) ;) A fun one that makes those of us who are a bit older laugh and think.... it may make the insane 'youth' laugh and think: you all just need to get with the program...we were 'nice' weren't we? LOL! :) ;) And yeah, they do it verbally too.... hear them saying goodbye after school:
"TextMeTheLinkSeeYaLaterBye" ...... amazing.. :) :) Yvette

"Are you someone guilty of thoughtless word smushing?" yes I am. And I make up my own words too. Perhaps I do it when I get tired and the replies have not been answered. I still feel the need to respond in a timely fashion. This is not a rationalization, it's just my answer to your question.

Well, but Victor, we are ALL guilty of that one on here...and for the same reason. My main pet peeve is when things are said without sincerity. Here you are, going the distance to be appreciative of other members' reviews. That is the ANTITHESIS of insincerity or appreciation.
Thanks for the delightful review. xo

You are most welcome, Rachelle. You're always a pleasure to read.

I've never thought about smushes but now that I have, I agree! So thank you so much that was the best! No edits or adjustments necessary from me.

Cute verse, Rachelle. I like your point and think your delivery of a mild rebuke about this offensive way of communicating was fun and to the point. Great job on this one.

This was such a nice way of putting it, Melissa. Thank you for the reassurance that I didn't sound like a nag. xo

This reminded me of my husband who hates usages like 'fact of the matter is..' why can't one just say, the fact is....
but I am quite a person to speak without weighing the words.!
I hate 'last but not the least...'
And i find unnecessary shortening is insincere .Is it so difficult to say 'thank you' instead of thanks? 'congrats' instead of' congratulations"
I liked the poem very much very unusual theme .

This is really good Rachelle. I love the message of this and how superbly you've brought it forth. Words are powerful as you've stated and we should be careful how we use them. Great job and well done!

These are very strong words. I think that you're talking about a person who is trying to be happy. I think. This poem doesn't have any mistakes. I like it. Thanks for sharing!

In my country we have a greeting such as, "G'day, how are you?" Of course the question is rhetorical. But then, I don't think we want to know, really. But I do do understand. But you're right, there's a lot of words that fill up space I suppose. Beautifully written, making a good point, blessings, Roy

Thanks, Roy. For me, it's all about the sincerity of it and whether or not the people are actually thinking about what they're saying - or is it just knee-jerk.
Thanks for your nice review...and G'day! [sorry...]
