I didn't know what to expect by the title and the beginning of the story, but you surprised me, and I didn't know whether to laugh or shiver. There was something especially creepy about a ten-year-old holding his dad in his hand and looking into his eyes. Well done.

Thanks so much for reading.

Poor Dad. I suppose you could take him home and keep him in the bathtub - that's what some kids in the south do with alligators I hear and many kids like to collect critters.
Well, she must have gotten pretty upset to send your dad into the forest.
Good story, held the interest.

Hi Maria Jose, you are really good at these fairy tale stories. I wish I had a six. So the mother was a witch but the father came back to communicate with his beloved daughter. All the best. Ulla:)))

She was a witch! Oh dear, I think I would make sure I did my homework and a few chores around the house, just in case... lol. I wonder, did the little girl take him home? That would have been fun. Wonderful again. :) Sandra xx

So- another childhood story that feels a bit like a fairy tale and that should have a deeper, metaphorical meaning. I'm surprised that the narrator here didn't find a pig in the forest! But, I think the dragon, especially a small hand-sized dragon, is so much more mystical and mythical.

Hi Maria :)
I love the way how you blend the ordinary with the magical and come up with something original and wonderful every time.
You've gone from mum and dad calling each other a witch and a pig, to dad ending up as a teeny dragon and mum being a real witch!
Funny and entertaining - what's not to love?!
Best wishes, Debra :)

A very well-written story about the secrets the forests hold. When someone goes missing and they cannot be found look out for dragons until you see the missing person's eyes in a dragon face.

This was a great little story, Maria. I'm amazed at the way you can come up with these mini-masterpieces seemingly at will. They all have such a smooth readability to them and a good ending. Nicely done.
