What a beautiful tribute this is. You captured the sorrow but also left room for some hope with the words "Paris gathers" because it evokes that feeling of solidarity and a unifying force. That's the two-edged sword, I guess, of tragedy; it does bring people together. Very nicely done. xo

Thanks for the review. When I saw them gather, so emotional, singing the hymns, for the first time I felt a world tribal feeling come over me. Like a connection, as we all grieved. In Montreal, we have the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica, (worth googling) and I know how gutted we would be and the gaping hole it would leave if it ever burnt down. It is breathtaking! Bless you my child, now go in peace. j

You have described the scene we all watched on t.v. The hymns the people sang outside were beautiful and harmonious. There was such grief. Well done with a 5-7-5.

Hi Contest Author,

This is a lovely and fitting tribute to the French people following the Notre Dame fire. Heartbreaking to see such a beautifuc, historic building damaged that way. Good luck and thanks for sharing. Jan :-)

Thanks for the thoughtful review. Yes, it was quite a sight, I can only imagine how utterly dry the wood would be after so many centuries. Dommage.⚜
