Hi Rod. A very well done 5-7-5 and you gave me and other readers something to contemplate. I don't ever recall him being depicted with a toothy smile, always a closed mouth smile as you mention. I think the Lord did have a sense of humor, probably more on the wry side of things. I wonder if he ever had a belly laugh. I hope he did. Marilyn

It's interesting that you should write about this. I have sometimes wondered about how Jesus felt when he was resurrected. It's a nice deja vu to see that thought expressed in your poem.
My offering would be: "Light in His eyes met theirs" What's yours?

Thank you so much for responding to my challenge. Your response is the best one I have received yet. I think that light would be a love unmatched by mere men.

I can sort of imagine. But I can also imagine the shock and awe and fear and joy of all of His disciples when He first appeared to them.
My six words for His smile:
Radiant, peaceful, joy-infusing, awe-inspiring victory-claiming.

Good job, Mystery Author, with your contest entry. Your syllable count per line is correct. Your picture choice is a great pairing with your well=chosen words.
My 6 words or less:
"My Father and I love you!"
Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

I can only begin to imagine what witnessing the rise of Jesus Christ would be like. With such few words and syllables you have captured one heck of a story and played it out perfectly. I wish you all the luck I can in the contest, as you are a very talented writer.

I've never thought about that. You pose and excellent thought provoking point to the readers. I know that it shows these people standing. I don't have any idea what they would have really been doing. I know that if I would have been there and saw Jesus, I would be on my face at His feet. It makes me well up with tears thinking about my Savior and King standing there. Thanks for sharing this well written poem. Well done!

Thank you for responding to my challenge, Jeffrey. Yes, I think I, too, would have fallen to my knees when I first saw Him alive again. But shock would eventually vanish. Then what would you see?
