Peasy does it with this whitney, inspired by a fun day out in the garden and Ben doesn't know what he is missing in fresh peas :) This has the usual wonderful cadence, that rolls along telling smile inducing story!

LOL - why, Ben, why!
Peas are fine and sweet and green!
I'll eat yours, unless you're mean
and toss them off your dinner plate
in abject veg-o-matic hate... (LOL)

This is so nice, Debra. You and your family have had a great day of planting together. I especially like this post because it features peas. Being a vegetarian one of Bea's peas I have to like it. Marilyn

What a charmed and sweet life, and an English gardener, too. I love that song, Sitting in an English Garden, by David Lanz. Do you know it? I thought of it today as I read your poem and tribute to peas. Every family has their difficult eater. Just like your Ben.
All my best,
Sal xo

Hi Sal :)
I don't know that song, but I will look it up now!
Thanks for your lovely feedback :)
I love to garden - I've spent the past couple of days working hard in the garden and it's starting to take shape again :)
Best wishes, Debra xx

Won't it be great looking on as a grandmother and watching Ben trying to get his kids to eat vegies? Well, we can dream, can't we? lol Oh, dear, need a few more characters - have a great day.

Debra,
hahahahaha! What fun! So... he almost had you, huh? But I do bet you that you'll get a lot closer to getting him to eat THOSE veggies than any others. Good luck with that! Enjoyed!

I'm glad you had fun. You can't complain: this time they've chosen the garden over the television.
Another lovely little poem. You never disappoint.
Thanks for sharing.

NOW we're talking a delightful vacation day!! I knew eventually they'd grow tired of the telly, but I also think they must have needed that down time first. I like this poem very much - and, once again, you have found SUCH a perfect photo to go with your delightful work! Great job, Debra. xo

This is a really neat poem you have penned about peas using the Whitney format. It sounds like you had a great day outdoors with your family doing things in the garden. My husband and I will be doing that shortly. I enjoyed reading and reviewing. Love the picture of the peas! love and blessings, teri

Thanks so much, Chas :) It's nice to pick moments from the day to write about in this short format. It's almost like a little diary!
Best wishes, Debra :)
