Hi Maria,

Awww, this is such a sad poem, but a very real scenario that occurs a lot, I'm sure. As always, this is very well written. Nothing to revise. Thanks for sharing. Jan :-)

You truly did capture the emotional downfall of one so trusting and loving that when the real truth comes out, the downhill spiral never seems to stop. Nicely done

What a sad ending, but a good story. It had tension and action. I think you did a good job. I didn't see a thing to recommend a change to you. Have a blessed afternoon. Shirley

Maria, This is a very well written poem full of great descriptive words about Emily Dickenson and what broke her heart and gave her great words to write in poetry. I loved the art work you chose too. I enjoyed this very much. love and blessings, Teri

In those days there was a lot of shame in being jilted, and finding another suitor almost impossible, not like today when we get through several marriages in a lifetime! This is a gentle and subtle write, most enjoyable Maria, love Dolly x

Aww, Maria, that was a terribly sad story and one that many girls have succumbed to. Why do men do that? Cheating on their wives break the lives of so many people. Another well written story, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Oh my - the terribleness can't be so awful that your person should stay forever. Sad. But a good poem. Really.
Hope this breaks you into much more poetry - but not stuck in an attic room for sure.
I write because it keeps my mind working. As I grow older, I want to keep my mind active, Lord willing.
Blessings

An amazing piece of writing Maria. You captured Emily's sense of despair and anguish so well. The one thing I have noted through the times is that there are still naive and there are still the cheaters. Very well done, very much enjoyed and appreciated.

Well written - a common theme in stories about false love and devious lovers. I'm not remembering this event in Emily's life - but decided a few weeks ago that I need to revisit her biography and some of her poetry. I believe she was relegated to her inner world by trying to bloom in a world not ready for a woman's mind.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh! I made this up. That's why I said it was loosely based on her life. I had to invent a reason for her being such a recluse.
    Thanks for reading.

Excellent writing about a life smashed by a broken heart. It is sad when people take advantage of other people and don't really care.
Thanks for sharing. Bill
