Oh my goodness this is so sad, if it is true then I am so sorry for your loss. Telling a little girl her father has died must have been the hardest thing to do. Your words are well written and evoked the tears here, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Very well done. And so sad. We were an army family - one day we sat with a friend (who has four kids) waiting for the chaplain and the officer to come. We could see them coming up the walk. We all knew of course.
I can see it yet.
Now, amazingly enough, I've met Shirley again on facebook. That is a blessing.
