This is beautiful prose, it reads like a poem.
Being a police officer must be a tough job, but also very rewarding because you know you help others.

This is a sad poem. They are also hated, even from the innocent, and loathed because of their job. This poem brings home the plight of a policeman very well. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Since the prompt was to convey sorrow about policemen, your review, saying this made you feel sad, encouraged me. They have the hardest job imaginable.

This is brilliant. It really made me stop and think about the "complete sacrifice" made by our police officers. The rhyme and meter felt so smooth, which is always refreshing. Great poem!

This is a very powerful poem with a a keen insight view of the toll that the job has on cops and their families. You made it rhyme, makes sense, and invokes emotions within the reader. Good luck in the contest.
