Good work on this story. I like the idea you have here; definitely original. I feel like this could happen and we'd never see it coming!
My only suggestion would be to add something more to the beginning. You have a lot of words devoted to the 'how is this possible' train of thought, which might be a bit much for a story this short. It still works, but you have space to add another descriptive line if you wanted to.
Also one type - They have grown while (taking) bites
Other than that, great work. I'd love to see this idea worked into a novel-length story. Best of luck on the contest,

This was a bit different story. Putting an idea in the reader's head that plants could eat all humans. We know that couldn't really happen, until the author says it has happened in real life. Anything's possible. I suppose. It made me want to hear more about the subject.

I love this genre. It's almost like the plant version of the zombie apocalypse. Anything is possible. Good stuff. Too bad it's a flash fiction, or there could had been more interesting details.Thank you for the refreshing share.

I admire your wish to be a horror novelist. There are a lot of avenues to follow in this genre and I have no talent for that, so I'm impressed with your goal. I think you did a fine job telling this story in just 50 words. I wonder though that since you have so few words you should show or tell more rather than ask three questions. Good story to trigger ideas. Seems like an act of revenge for all the chopping down of beautiful needed, in many ways, trees as well as entire forests to put up apartment complexes and or shopping malls in this already congested,, overcrowded world in many areas. It also could bite and eat the humans that don't express enough appreciation for the fruit that these beauties produce. Good writing.
