Hi TF,

Yet another intriguing and extremely well-written chapter you have penned, my friend.

I really like rhe paragraph describing the room, in contrast to the reason for the meeting, as you point up here:

"It was hard to believe what mayhem we were discussing in these civilised surroundings."

Thank you for a delightful read, TF.

Jan :-)

Another great chapter, Tony.

Exuding charm and suavity, - love this description.

An antique French mantle clock above the fireplace struck the quarter hour with the delicacy of fairy bells. Autumn sunshine streamed through the window onto a vase of copper-coloured chrysanthemums turning them to gold. It was hard to believe what mayhem we were discussing in these civilised surroundings - this paragraph sums up a great juxtaposition.

A very well-written chapter. It seems the secrets are being unwrapped one by one and surprising to say the least what kind of things kept secretly and why.

Ah, another good chapter and one that advances the plot and begins to answer some questions I had from reading a previous chapter.

I enjoyed the dialogue in this chapter. It felt natural and real, while the subject material was certainly controversial. I enjoyed the analogy using the Hydra.

He took a sip of coffee and nibbled the edge of a macaroon, dusting the crumbs from his trousers before continuing, "Of course, as long as we can be assured that you are working for us, we will do our utmost to protect you and to ensure that never happens."

Nothing wrong with this section. I just wanted to highlight it to say what excellent writing it is. You show us what is happening, and give a clear picture as to the demeanour of the person at the same time.

Very well written
Jan

Interesting, very British and charming. As strolling through the streets of Paris with the author's take of France, I recall my days as a an American soldier in Paris. Thanks you for the moment. I find nothing wrong with this story.

This is an excellent chapter in your book about the British spy world. I like your use of blunt honesty In the conversation between the two men. I also appreciate the contrast between the elegant surroundings and the discussion of prison and terrorism. Your writing has a good feel of reality and flow to keep the readers interest.

I don't think I like what's happening any more than Charles does. To have anything to do with Jeanne is quite unacceptable, and I'm sure Charles thinks so. But, no one has mentioned how Helen fits into all this. They might think Kayla is a sympathiser of the terrorist movement, but what of Helen? I don't think she is. Hmm, this is really a mystery, and at the moment I can't see a way out for Charles. Excellent post, Tony. Well done. :) Sandra xx
