A well written Whitney poem for your little lass. It takes a while before kids find themselves in life. Sometimes shyness is camouflaged by bravado. Sooner or later, the real personality bubbles up.Marilyn

    Hi Marilyn :)
Thank you for your lovely feedback... I appreciate it as always.
I hope Rebecca finds confidence to be herself soon - her bravado is more than a little spiky at times, bless her!
    Best wishes, Debra

How very cute! The way you write cracks me up. Is one of your daughters really like this: shy but pretending to be tough?
Love the artwork as well.
Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Maria :)
Yep, Rebecca is very much like that! She's my soft little tough nut!!
Thanks for your feedback, I love that you get a chuckle out of my writing :) Best wishes, Debra

There are dozens of children (and adults) who hide their shyness behind a gruff exterior. It's always worth persevering with trying to connect with these people. Thanks for sharing.

This was great, Debra. A strong female badass with a shy heart. Gotta love it. So which gene did you give her? You're doing well with these. Good job.

Hi Chas :) She got her shyness from me....the bad-ass too probably LOL! She's her mothers daughter, what can I say?!
Thanks for the feedback. Best wishes, Debra :)

Excellent Whitney and I do know a few like this and I still wonder what became of them. I know they were survivors and they taught me a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very cute poem. All kids are nice as pie down deep. Just some are afraid to show it, like in your poem. Good job whether this is for a contest or not.

Love this adorable little poem! Thanks for educating me about Whitney poems (I'd never heard of them before.) The image you've chosen complements the piece well.

This Whitney, Hiding, has the correct format and finds you revealing a look at someone whom you know past the veneer that keeps the world at bay.

This is a cute poem. It is true some people who are shy come across as aloof or even rude because they don't know how to relate well to other people and feel so self conscious.
I found no errors. It's a delightful poem.
All the best,
Jan
