Okay, I take it back. I want to get on with the conspiracy punishment, oh queen of suspense and leisurely-well-done pacing!! I am chomping at the bit here!!!

Dear Aunt Amelia, I'll miss her, she was quite a gutsy lady for her time. Reading your reviews takes me back to when I was working all these parts out, it was fun and so worth it because I'm reading all your lovely thoughts. Big hugs, dear friend. xxxx

I'm enjoying your story and the characterisation is very consistent from chapter to chapter.

"You'll do fine, you always do." - should this be two sentences perhaps?

she poured out the fresh cups of fresh tea to take with her into the sitting room. "Stay close t' me in case I lose me thread," she muttered before taking a deep breath and headed for the door. - I'd delete the second 'fresh'. And perhaps 'she muttered before taking a deep breath and heading for the door'

"There y'are, Amelia." Mildred put the cup on the table near enough to reach, - maybe 'cup on the table within reach'

What happened next had Mildred jumping up and dashing over to Amelia and relieving her of her cup as she choked and dribbled the tea onto her chin. - comma after 'Amelia' and delete 'and'

Kind regards. Judy

Oh dear, I am so pleased you picked up that extra 'fresh'! Goodness knows how I missed that. Your other suggestions are brilliant, I've got a lot of editing to do now. Not only will I sort them out on here, but on my manuscript too. Thank you again, Judy, you are wonderful! :)) Sandra xxx

Maybe Mildred should have waited until Amelia had set her cup down!

Why do I get the feeling it won't be all that difficult to convince Amelia about Gladys?

One possible correction:

"Of course not. Here's your walkin' stick. I'll pour us out some fresh tea when I've finished me breakfast and bring the cups through with me." (is 'pour us out' correct, or would 'pour out some fresh tea for us' sound better?

It would sound better, but not coming from Mildred. If you ever come back to England, I must introduce to some of my Hampshire friends, they also have unique dialects, at least, my friends do. There are some very upper-class people here too. I live close to the Mountbattens'. The Queen's uncle. Now they do speak proper posh. :))
Thank you again, my friend, for another 6 stars, and lovely review. You are now going to learn how 'easy' or difficult it is to convince Amelia. :)) Sandra xxx

I have a feeling when Amelia returns Mildred will be able to save the day. I know she will. I continue to enjoy this story. I can't wait to see what you have planned for our reading pleasure. This is a good story.

Thank you so very much for the super six stars, Barbara, and this most encouraging review. Mildred is a bit nervous now, waiting for Amelia to come back. I'm posting the next part today, you'll soon find out how it goes. :))
Big hugs, my friend. xx Sandra

I hope to be reading your next part soon? :))

-An excellent chapter, Sandra.
-I like the atmosphere as Gladys,
Ver.,and Mildred are together
discussing the proposed plan.
-Gladys indicates that Amelia is open
minded, and Mildred is up for the challenge.
-Good description of the breakfast
scene with Amelia and Mildred.
-Things are going well, and we learn a
little bit more about Charles and his
father not treating women with respect,
and how she wished that Gladys hadn't
been involved with the women's
movement because of Charles.
-Mildred is able to share a
little with her about Tommy.
-Finally, it is time for the "big reveal,"
but all doesn't go as planned.
-I guess Ver. hadn't planned
on Mildred being quite so direct.
-Poor Amelia was frightened so
she had to go to her room.
-Now we wait to see how
things will develop from here.

"Do you believe in ghost?" Mildred's question has sent Aunt Amelia into a coughing fit. I have a feeling that her reaction is not out of fear though. She may have been sensing Gladys' presence around her home. I'm curious to know what her answer will be to the question. I think she might not be so hard to recruit in the plan against Charles. With Veronica, Mildred, Gladys and maybe now Amelia, the man doesn't stand a chance against these women.
Great story-telling. Anxiously awaiting the next chapter.

This chapter was absolutely perfect. I enjoyed every single aspect of your text. You paid particular attention to the language used and the words were chosen. Every single grammar issue has been resolved and there are no spelling mistakes.

Hello Sandra, this is a really well written chapter - good dialogue throughout. '. How stern everyone looked. It was the same with all the photos--didn't people smile for the camera in those days?' Good comment - I think back then people were in awe of photography. They all had to be very still as photography was not so advanced. I've notice on old photos they never smile. You made a good comment there. Another good ending. I wonder why Amelia was so upset at the mention of ghosts? You leave the reader high and dry once again.
To change the subject, I was without access to Fanstory. I got on line but my portfolio, etc was empty. I was asked to sign in and when I did I got a reply welcoming me as a newcomer to FS and giving me the prices for membership. I was without access for a week - wondered what was going on. The hazzle got on my nerves and I gave up for a while. But, all's well that ends well, to put it poetically LOL. Hope all's well with you - you're certainly full of beans as far as your writing is concerned. Love Dorothy xxx

I've just written a huge reply, and then it disappeared! Just like your membership!!! That was have been a nightmare. I hope you didn't have to pay again. I'm glad it's all sorted though, there have been a few glitches since Tom upgraded the site, but I think they are all smoothing out now. Thank goodness yours has. What do your family and friends think of your book? I bet they are well impressed! I'm really proud of you.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, and for the shiny 6 stars; Things are going to happen now, Charles will soon be under attack. I'm posting the next part on Wednesday because it really goes with this part, but it would have been much too long. Thanks again, my friend. Love Sandra xx

Hello Sandra,
You've written another excellent chapter in the story.
The banter between Veronica, Mildred and Gladys is spot on.

Rather blunt of Mildred, right to the heart of the situation;
I wonder what will happen when she says she's from the future?

But I think Amelia will recover just fine. Wouldn't it be great if Amelia
said, I'm a time traveler, too. What year are you from? lol

Great ending. All will be looking forward to the next scene.

Well done!
Robert

LOL that would make a brilliant scene, could you imagine Mildred's reaction. I've half a mind to use it, but it would change the way I've taken it. I love that idea though. The next part is all ready and raring to go, you'll see it on Wednesday. I might keep your idea on the backburner for another time though.

Thank you so much, Robert, for this really great review, and for the wonderful six stars. I did enjoy reading it. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Well Amelia didn't receive that question too well. Of course it could be she does believe and was very surprised by the question. Well done as always. Looking forward to the next chapter. Rox
