So lovingly put I felt it was like going into a house once loved then haunted by memories of the past, and once more comes alive with just the flickering of candle light. Well written with such lovee

Loved this little poems so perfect
Comment from Pantygynt
Although the requirement for this form requires only the syllabic count to be maintained, by writing this in iambic metre pentameter, trimeter, pentameter, trimeter, pentameter, pentameter, this has a beautiful rhythm to it that would not be nearly so satisfying were it not to be written metrically.
The word choice is also excellent leading to a very pleasant experience overall.

I thought it lovely.
Comment from Nottoway
I am going to surmise that this poem is a reflection on personal loss.
It is filled with the love of a lifetime together and the acknowledgment within the heart of missing the loved one. Carrying the candle of light within the heart to light the way even without a loved one is so moving.
Keep love within the heart as I know you do.

Hi Yvonne, it's a beautiful poem, which brought home such a visual of a lone candle bringing light to an abandoned place. I don't know the first thing about the form. All I can say is that it was a joy to read. All the best. Ulla:)))

Between you and me and Bucketlist, we have struck a gloomy chord indeed on this Veltanelle form. Well, it has been a wet and windy night in the heartland...excellent Veltanelle.

Loved your Veltanelle about this lone candle shedding light on an abandoned place. Lovely descriptions as the candle light takes us through each verse, then back to the shelf again. Lovely read.
cheers,
valda

Dear, Damommy;
>An absolute delight ff such a gifted writing of your Veltanelle<-(I like).
>The absolute rhyming of perfect time and rhyme was text-book.
>The congeniality and sense of serenity that the context achieves makes reading the poem much like the context, soft, gentle, and pleasingly entertaining.
> I do not see or read anything on my second time around, such of anything to offer assistance.
> Thanks were very entertaining and fun time reading a well-written offtake of the villanelle.
> Take care and have a good one, Damommy.

Ohhhh, such a lonely and just dreary trek through a house that's nobody's home... but the candle will be there for the next explorer, perhaps it is the candle's expectations that we can happily take from this.... that, perhaps, one day, it may light the way to find life inside once again!! :) :) A wonderful, thought provoking write, Yvonne, that has a haunting melody of its own that just stays with the reader long after the candle finds its way back to the shelf! :) ;) thanx for sharing.... If I had a six, ma'am, it would be yours!!! :) ;) Yvette

Comment from Barb Hensongispsaca
so sad and mornful, like looking for something and it is gone.
This tallow tube sat seemingly in wait
as if it knew someday
someone would come and use it to abate
the edge where shadows play.
My favorite. I do not understand the form but loved the content

Comment from Gloria ....
This is just lovely Yvonne. The candle exploring the house and to search the shadowy edges is such vivid and sensual imagery.
A fine contribution to the Potlatch Club.
