These can be sad days when what was once fun for children becomes
'uncool'. But don't worry - one day, I promise, they'll have wonderful memories of when they used to plant beans with you.

    Hi Judy :)
I always snap the evidence when the kids get involved with anything! It's proof that we had fun for when they're grumpy teenagers and say we never do anything!
Thanks for your feedback :) Much appreciated, Debra

Hi Debra,

Awww, so sad your kids won't plant with you these days. Maybe their interest will return, though. Yuk. How can anyone stand the stupidity of TV these days?

Thanks for sharing. Jan :-)

This is a very cute and well written Whitney poem you have penned about planting beans without the help of your daughters now. I can totally relate to that as kids love to help do things for a while and then all of a sudden it is boring to them. lol Very cute my friend. love and blessings, Teri

This is a cool Whitney poem about planting seeds with children. I saw a really cool idea for planting. Take a bag of potting soil, lay it flat and cut out a window in the top leaving the sides to hold the soil and plantings the seeds.
I can see this as a wonderful way to plant seeds with a limited garden space.

Debra,

More information, please. What kind of beans? Dried beans? Any ole kind? Store bought ones specifically for planting? Help?

Either way, this was just adorable. Sorry you've hit that WALL. Wish I could say it's just a blip and it will pass....

Instead, I'm sending hugs- *smile*

Hi Robyn :) Thanks for your feedback and your interest also!
I just buy beans specifically for planting from the garden centre. You can get lots of different varieties... You plant them in pots, then replant them out into the garden when they are about 8inches tall. Then water them daily and watch them grow, blossom and produce beans! Simples!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Ohhhh, MAAAAAN!!! That stinks. I hope, as the vacation continues, they'll become less enticed by the tv. Sometimes all it takes is a few days of vegging to re-calibrate and join in fun activities again. Sorry, Debra. : (

You made a cute poem out of your disappointment, though. I hope that's some consolation! xo

I don't think you have become uncool, but they are growing up...
Anyway, this way you got an idea for another poem.
BTW, if given the choice I would have preferred TV too.
Thanks for sharing another cute poem.

Aw, too bad, Debra. Looks like you did a great job. TV is tough to compete with when you're their age. I'm sure they'll do it again one day. Good luck.

Hi Chas :) It just depends on what mood they're in and if I'm offering an incentive on top of the pleasure of my dazzling company!
Thanks for your feedback as always, Best wishes, Debra :)

-Good image and
presentation, Debra.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-A very well written Whitney.
-It's nice to see you
writing them.
-Effective use of rhyme
and description of
the plans to plant the beans.
-I think it's referred to
as growing up, when
other things take the place
of the best thought out plans:)
-Thanks for sharing.

Your poem represents the culture today for sure.
The scheme of this is new to me, but I like it. It makes your poem bouncy and light-hearted. Cute poem. I like reading "real stuff."
