Yes, that's important, to try to do our best even if it's not always easy.
You've written another lovely poem, Patricia.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Your well-written spiritual poem is very encouraging. It also makes me think of Paul, II Timothy 4:7. He had fought a good fight, run the race, and kept the faith.

Hello Patricia, It's funny that you should use that phrase. My father used to use the same one on us at report card time. "He'd look at the C and say, "Well, as long as you tried your very best, that's all your mother and I can ask of you." and he'd smile... and you'd feel like crap because you'd know you could have done better in History. :) LOL

What an encouraging poem, Patricia, that through the power of the Spirit that all can be used by God to be a voice for Him.
One extra 's':
"but the Fathers says" (Father?)

I read multiple meanings and metaphors in your first two verses - which I enjoyed. But the biggest question is saved for the end, and is simply "Have you done your very best?" That is the question we must all ponder - it sets a standard that we hold ourselves accountable for. Your poem speaks to both the religious and non-religious, both the spiritualist and the naturalist. Nicely done.

Hi Pat,
This is a very well written religious poem, which encourages everyone to live with integrity. It would be a far different world if everyone adhered to this principal. Thanks for sharing. Jan :-)

Excellent poem with a good message that we all need to strive to fulfill every day. The right standard is to do our best in obedience to God and not waste time and energy and frustration comparing ourselves to someone else.
