Congratulations on a great piece of work! Wish I had a bit more time to analyse it more closely; as it's quite complex. Life certainly takes us on a journey doesn't it?

Thanks for the excellent review and for your wonderful comments supporting the poem. I'm not altogether happy with the overall cohesion of this poem, I like parts of it, but I am glad the poem seems to have resonated so well with so many readers. estory

Your imagery is vivid, especially in the first stanza. The broken figurines with the pieces scattered all over is a powerful metaphor. And even broken pieces disintegrate further into a dream. Nicely done

Your poem reminds me of some paintings where things are put together in unusual combinations and shapes. It is very visual with the collections of objects. I especially like the lines "Glass, signs, time pieces,/Keys, coins, rings." It makes me think how poignant are the everyday objects that are left behind. The last stanza is so beautiful. This is a poem I will return to many times.

Very interesting how you made the figures a character in your story. "Until the dreams of the figurines are all that is left of them." --A great line. Keep up the good work on your poetry.

Thanks so much for the very encouraging support of this poem and my writing. I don't know if its one of my better ones; I'm still not altogether happy with the cohesion of it and the flow of the language, but I guess there is something there worth working on. estory

I always try to sleep on it and the next morning, it looks different. That's when I change it.
