I love it not only is it cute but a easy way to learn
Once again you made me smile
thank you for writing these wonderful things for children.
You know your work also can help children and adult with a speech problems.
Like I had and still have tough time saying words since my stroke I must break the words down into syllables and speak slowly
thank you for sharing.

I guess you get better with these with practice. You'll be a real pro by then end of April. Syllable counting seems to be a big thing when writing poetry.

Ha! I see it is getting to you already! What an interesting challenge, to drive yourself mental. It will certainly hone your imagination for topics to write about.

I enjoyed your poem for your April project, Debra. You did a good job with the whitney style. I like the picture you paired it with, too. At the end of the month, you will be so proud of your poetry book. Thanks for sharing. Press on--there's only 21 more days. Jan

Debra,
I have missed soooo much of this month! Both my grandgirls have the flu and one of them also has Bronchitis and ...something else (Some weird, but non-life-threatening disease.) Can you tell I'm pooped, if I can't even remember what the poor child HAS~!!!???
Anyway, I've been off-site a bit helping care for them and so I'm assuming this is part of your April challenge for the contest? And I'm wondering if you are doing ALL Whitneys?
Wow. Then I can imagine what you mean. You can probably hear that in your sleep! (When your dreams start coming to you in that rhythm it's probably a sign to take a pause.) hahahaha!
This was fun. Thanks!

Hi Robyn :)
I hope your granddaughters recover from their illnesses soon, bless them x
I have a poorly girl too...she's got a really high temperature and a headache and is quite teary - lots of mummy cuddles today...
Yes, I'm doing a book full of Whitneys! Maybe I should've mixed it up a bit, just for the sake of my own sanity, but it'll be worth it in the end!
Thanks for your lovely feedback as always, best wishes, Debra :)

This is wonderful, Debra. So clever and cute. Who knows what the outcome will be at the end of the month--maybe our brains will be mush. Starting tomorrow we will be a third of the way there. Marilyn

Ah do the lo-co-mo-tion, with one and a two and a one, two, three four! Love the catchy rhythm you have here and has a great learning experience about it, like how you would teach a child or a beginner in a fun way. I think your teaching prowess is showing through in this one, a truly brilliant whitney and your best do far I think! Even I can count the syllables now :)

I think you
are good at this;
no more need
to count such bliss.
Keep it up;
you're doing fine!
Now I'm on the seventh line!
Oh great; now you've got ME doing it? (9)
I'm not sure I can forgive this, Debra. (10)
GRRRRR! (1)

syllable counts always remind me of counting in music. 123 1234 it's just about the same (sort of) :) You did a good job and I enjoyed the read. Shirley

As usual your poem is hilarious. I like both your words and the cute picture. I wish I had a sixer for this one, but they are all gone.
Thanks for sharing.
