It would be hard to find a better expression of Christian faith than this essay, so solidly based in your research on the faith of Old Testament's Job, despite all the adversities he faced. Such faith maintains hope and strength to endure, even during the most disastrous of times -- hope which those without faith quickly lose, leaving them weak and vulnerable.

The Pharisees practiced strict Jewish traditions, but did so blindly, without the true faith which should have accompanied their rituals. If they had had that, events might have gone differently. Jesus was trying to help his people, the Jews, re-find their faith. By saying He was the way, He meant that the way of others, such as the Pharisees, was misleading them into false belief that they were on the path God intended for them. The Pharisees would have resented Jesus as a threat to their power.

Pontius Pilate, serving under Emperor Tiberius, was the Roman governor of Judea from 26-36 C.E. (Current Era). He personally did not believe Jesus was guilty of the Pharisees' charges of treason (by claiming to be a king), and blasphemy (by claiming to be "the Son of God"), the latter of which would have justified a death penalty under Jewish law. (Ironically, Jesus probably meant "a true son of God, in the sense of being a Jew of true faith). Pilate tried to avoid need to pronounce such a sentence by offering the people a choice between Jesus and known murderer, Barabbas; but the Pharisees incited the people present to demand that Jesus be the one. Thus, Pilate reluctantly gave the crucifixion order to avoid an insurrection, and spent the rest of his life regretting it.

To clarify: "the Jews" did not kill Jesus, but the mob stirred up by the Pharisees DID effectively force Pilate to order it against his own view.

Jesus did not plan to start a new religion, but revive the true essence of the existing one by demonstrating the power of true faith, just as prior prophets had done in their own times. The committee of churchmen who hundreds of years later decided which writings to include in the New Testament were the real creators of Christianity as a separate religion.

(Note the misspelling of "origin" in that URL. It is correctly spelled within the PDF itself.)

I found a lot more in my own research, but I'll stop here.

Your use of "transliterated" in paragraph 3 is correct, as it refers to rendering (in this case) Aramaic/Hebrew characters (reading fro right to left) in Latin lettering (reading from left to right) for English speakers to be able to pronounce the original words. You also provide translation, to convey the meaning; but that is different from transliteration.

Thank you for this outstanding and heartfelt review. I am overwhelmed. To praise my faith is the highest compliment I can receive in this life. I do not blame the Pharisees for the death of Jesus. He came to give His life as a ransom for many according to the scriptures. He was the perfect sacrifice for sin. It would have happened with or without the Pharisees. My sin and unbelief held him to the cross. For all practical purposes, He did it just for me. I live my days out in thankfulness and praise. I love to write about my faith and it is so wonderful to have it appreciated. Thank you, again.
    All my best,

You are most welcome, Sal. Faith is important, as life is full of threats, hardships, setbacks, and losses; and only strong faith can keep all that from overwhelming us and destroying our will to persevere and thrive in the face of such adversity. When humanity finally realizes that it does not matter WHICH faith one has, just that he or she HAS faith, then there will be peace among ALL who have faith for the benefit of everyone.

I believe God always manifests in a manner best understandable by the group or individual in any given place and time frame; but too often there are those who intervene and twist the message in order to gain power over others by creating religions, which are inherently territorial and thus at odds with each other. We all would be better off if we'd simply respect the faith each person has, regardless of its fine details, for such a view would entirely wipe out all justification for religious bigotry and its resultant fears, hatreds, and conflicts.

It was Roman Emperor Constantine who, in the fourth century C.E., brought together the elders of diverse (and squabbling) church groups to settle upon a single doctrine and scripture for the sake of peace. The four Gospels were then written and became the basis for the New Testament. The resultant widely-accepted religion of Christianity pacified much of the world; and, despite dark times such as during the Spanish Inquisition period, Christianity has been a benevolent force for centuries. Today, devout Christians have become protectors of their heritage in the Old Testament by siding with Jews (and Israel) against their common enemies.

There are over four hundred religions in India, and all but one peacefully coexist. The diverse religions of Asia do so as well. Thus, there is good basis for hope that tolerant faith will one day prevail worldwide.

YOU, and others so enlightened, are setting the right example. -- Mike

I love the song you added at the end. It is so beautiful! I, too, believe He is returning for us soon. I pray that my face will be radiant in these end times and that Jesus can be seen in me. He loves the world. He died for us all bc He loves us sooo.

Best wishes in the contest.

You did an excellent job breaking down how He was, He is and He is to come (past, present, future!) The details of information throughout your writing is very impressive. The artwork is really great and I like how you added the video of "I know my redeemer lives". An overall great contribution to the faith.

Thank you so much, dear Kathleen! I am so glad you liked it. But more than just liked, it inspired your faith, and in that I have succeeded. That was my main goal. His great light has come into the world for all to see, if mankind would only look up and behold. So, so glad you know and love our Redeemer!

Amen! And Amen. I love the book of Job, who is our example of strength in adversity, he stands as an allegory of faith. A great book of philosophical poetry as well, there is no better example of a faithful mortal man, outside of God/Man Jesus, Beautfully written Shirley, blessjngs, Roy

I love the book of Job, too.Ive had shingles nine times since 2016 and it is my go to book for comfort. It is also one of the most poetic and prophetic books in the Bible, and the oldest. I never grow tired of reading it. I am blessed that my post blessed you Roy. I wrote this especially for those who love Jesus, but also, for those who are searching. I hope you have a wonderful Easter celebration!

I just love all of this.
I have to read Job again now!
I too, believe it will be soon,
although times such as ours could
go on for quite awhile.

In the 2nd part...'Our Redeemer'...2nd sentence.
It says'The created world knows who Him.'
I think you meant 'who He is.?'

BUT...I love this.
Thank you for sharing,
Blessings...

Dear Irish Rain, Thank you so much for the honoring review and appreciation of my work. Thanks also for catching my typo, I had changed that sentence just before I posted, and oops! Yes, I meant who He is and fixed it with the edit tool. We are blessed to have such a Savior and Redeemer.

Wow -- that is such a BEAUTIFUL Easter posting, Sal... your sentences and the way you've made your overall testimony just passes along your joy as the reader goes through..... and, yeah, many of the female voices we hear on the radio and such today just can't touch the strength in Gladys' voice can they? :) :) :) Happy Easter to you and your family, too, Beautiful Lady! :) ;) Yvette
