You covered a lot of the heroism in your poem and I commend you for it. We cannot say enough and the words are hard to find that will explain the sacrifices that have been made over these many decades of war. The families left behind grieving over events that will never happen have also sacrificed. Your poem is eloquent. God Bless You.

What a wonderful memorial that is and these dedicated statues remind us of the price that has been paid by these brave soldiers. I enjoyed your rhyming words and your questions in the middle of the poem. This statue looks so realistic. The most poignant line for me is this on:
Sacrificing the best years of their tender young lives.
