Oh what a cute ode! I am sorry for your loss and it is good to remember him in this quaint and delightful poem. The rhyme and rhythm are good as is the tone and imagery. Enjoyed the read.

The loyalty you have shown is warm. You had to put him down as he was in pain. The dog is pooping a lot, maybe meaning he just can't go on. He's old and tired and death is coming.

I am so, so sorry. The last great kindness an owner can do is to put their beloved pet out of its misery. Although it's hard, you're doing the right thing - as I'm sure you know. My condolences.

Thank you Mancub. What really hurts was we had to put our cat of 15 years, Moe, down the week before. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, because i'm not really a poet. I look forward to checking out your work.

I hate the 150 character rule too. The ones that piss me off are the short poems.

Thank you Melissa. It wasn't good we lost hjm and our cat of 15 years, Moe, within a week of each other.
