This sucks for that small child but I'm glad that you are keeping her alive and talk about her. That'll mean so much to her. Hopefully it's good for you just knowing she's not forgotten and will forever live on that child. Big hugs

This is very, very sad and I have tears in my eyes. I'm so sorry. Such a heartfelt poem. I can't imagine the pain you must have been through. I'm sure you are all holding tight to your memories.

It's an unfortunate fact of life that children must endure tragedies they are too young to understand. It's so important to have the support of a loving family, as is the case in your poem.

Definitely, a two tissue read. I am so sorry for your terrible losses. I deeply admire and respect the manner in which you are letting that sweet little girl work through her grief and keeping her dear ones alive in her memory. This is the most touching and moving of poems.

This is really beautifully written. I wish I had six stars for you but I'm all out this week; truly deserving. You've made it easy for the reader to read and understanding with your language and words chosen. It flows very well and is at a length that most should appreciate. The emotions can be felt and it is indeed grieving and we grieve with you as you write in a way that allows the reader to partake in the moment and lend a shoulder and give an embrace to you. God help you on your journey and finding healing from these losses, which must be at times unbearable. I give my deepest sympathy. God bless.

I am so very sorry for your loss. As I read this emotional poem I prayed it was NOT a true event, but a story developed for the contest. The photo breaks my heart and your poem is so simply expressed with such an honest tone of grief tears came to my eyes. I am so glad you and your granddaughter have one another to keep sweet memories alive. Beautifully written. God Bless You!--Karenina

How sad is this occasion, but how wise is this young child. To dwell on the happyness and to comfort the mother. Lucky too is the child to have loving grandparents who promote the good memories. Good luck in the contest. Blessings, Barbara

What a beautiful and touching sad tale. Very appropriate artwork and good color. While sad, I enjoyed the rhyming and read. A great contest entry. Good luck.

This must be difficult, but grandmas give so much love it helps in the healing process. Fortunately for me, my mother is still alive.

I remember days spent with my paternal grandma, she loved me so much, and I, her.

Your poem reminds me of my grandma.

Best of luck in the contest.

Grandparents are such an important link to the past for their grandchildren under any circumstances, but when a parent is gone their role is all the more critical. You have captured this well in your lovely poem. Best wishes in the contest!
