This is a sad poem. It sounds like the granddaughter is staying strong for her grandparents. It seems it is a big loss for both but they have a lot of good memories.

Yes, memories are constantly streaming keeping grief at bay. We are sad but life goes on.

Thank you for sharing this touching and insightful poem. As one who suffered the loss of loved ones, I know the void and pain it can cause. I know they are in a better place, I just miss the sound of their voices and being able to visit and call when desired. Excellent Job!! I truly enjoyed it!!

Though she is a step granddaughter, I consider her my own granddaughter. She is my family, and I love her. We all come together to love the child that has lost a parent.
