This is a sad poem. It sounds like the granddaughter is staying strong for her grandparents. It seems it is a big loss for both but they have a lot of good memories.

Good luck in the contest. Keep writing

Joan

This touched my heart! So beautiful written. Thank you for sharing this and your notes as well. I knew this was a true poem--I could feel the words. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Yes, the picture speaks a thousand words, too.

Awesome, yet heart-wrenching presentation, Anonymous. Once again, my condolences. The picture is astonishing. One of, if not the best poems I have read in the General Poetry Category on FanStory. Best wishes for a contest win and God Bless. Respectfully with Hug's, Bill.

I love this. It's so sweet. I miss spending time with my grandma. This makes me want to call her and tell her how much I love her. Very well written. I loved it.

This is a great tribute to Grandma, leaving her flowers and saying goodbye, it is always sad for children as they learn that we don't live forever, but there are fond memories, love Dolly x

Thank you for sharing this touching and insightful poem. As one who suffered the loss of loved ones, I know the void and pain it can cause. I know they are in a better place, I just miss the sound of their voices and being able to visit and call when desired. Excellent Job!! I truly enjoyed it!!

With tears in my eyes. I thank you for these kind words. Thank you for reading and I appreciate your time. Loss is difficult and on can never quite internalize that a loved one is gone for us on earth.

This is so very sad and breaks my heart. My step-granddaughter lost her mom when she was two years old. So I can relate to this poem very much. Life can be very difficult. Though she is a step granddaughter, I consider her my own granddaughter. She is my family, and I love her. We all come together to love the child that has lost a parent.

Best wishes to you in this contest.

Joy xx

This brought tears to my eyes...it is so out of the normal to bury a child...and I am so glad you talk about her often for your granddaughter's sake
Beautiful poem...made more so because it's true
God bless and comfort you

How very sad! You have my condolences. I can relate to this as my sister passed away this summer and her youngest daughter is only eight.
Good luck in the contest.
