So many musicians - such as Mozart - were not really appreciated until they were dead. They remained penniless, broke, writing what they had to write. Makes me think of some poets I've known (through their books) - they were nothing until they were gone. Good poem. And now Beethoven gives joy

The Ode to Joy is synonymous with Beethoven isn't it? And as you say, some things are truly appreciated at a young age. I love the look of these 'Even the Odds' and I enjoyed your poem too. Thanks for sharing.

This poem tells of a stage in human life when the music of Beethoven can be understood. It has a consistent trend and, though not my cup of tea, the poem is well executed.
