There's a melancholy tone to your words here Diane as we say our last goodbye and when we come to terms with the fact that none of us live forever, we can be restful in the moment, I enjoyed your loop, love Dolly x

This was a fine piece of writing, Mrs. KT. You know what the rhythm of the the loop felt like to me? Two seniors rocking - which is what I envisioned here even before I looked at the photo you used to display this beautiful work. I bet this is going to do so great in the contest! Good luck to you. xo

Thank you, Rachelle, for your excellent rating and thoughtful review.
I love your thought of this couple rocking...which is what both sets of my grandparents often did outside on their porches after their farm chores were completed at day's end.
    Thank you again...

I think you must have internalized it, Diane. xo

My thoughts have turned to them so often lately. I noticed, upon completion of my poem, that lines 3 and 4 in each stanza is 8 syllables while lines 1 and 2 in each stanza is 7 syllables: rock away! :)

Ah - musician that I am, I was thinking in terms of the rhythm of it: uuuuup, back; uuuuup, back. lol. Some things are harder to turn off than others, it seems!!

    Yes!
    I, too, am a musician = piano.
I appreciate your observation and sense of rhythm...

That's the ultimate! That makes me happy to read.

When I was teaching my daughter to drive, I overheard her on the phone one night say to her friend, "Yeah, I always know how well or how poorly I've ever done on any night of driving by how long my mom has to sit and play the piano when we get home." Then she added, "And if she plays Tchaikovsky, I know I was especially bad that night." [he's so visceral; you really have to POUND those keys to play him correctly!!] What was funny was that she was one hundred percent on the mark!!
