As you can tell, I'm reading several of your great entries at once trying to make up for missing them.
I've read a lot of 5-7-5's and enjoyed them; but you have a gift for making one think, for bringing depth of meaning into the life of the poem. What more can I say?

I would not argue with the message in your poem. But being older, I suspect for many around my age the past plays a big part of their present time. My feeling is, the past should be just a direction that the present and the future will take. Good luck in the contest.

Maybe try "I do wonder why" Good luck in the contest. You may have time to edit this poem for the syllables.

This is a sad little poem but I can relate to it. Nowadays when we get together with our friends, the conversation is all about hearing aids and where to live when we can't manage at home. Good luck with the competition. I can't suggest any improvements.
