A very well-written love poem. Indeed a mother's heart never closes on her children no matter how old they are and how many mistakes they made, we still love them as much as the first time we were aware of life inside us.

It's a fabulous picture of your three boys, Yvette. It certainly looks clear enough to me.
I have four sons, age 36-24, as well as my one and only 22 year-old daughter.
Even without a picture, the words of you poem alone and the genuine, heartfelt emotion and love the message conveys is truly beautiful and wonderfully well expressed.
I sincerely wish you the very best of luck in the contest.
~Dean

You have written a beautiful explanation of how a mother feels. That first knowing life is within you transports you to another level of being. Another step closer to God. Your boys are beautiful and so is your love for them.

Amen to everything you so beautifully wrote. I have three sons and they are my treasures and my best friends.

You took us through life from that first flutter until manhood. I can still remember the excitement and anticipation, and then, finally, we met. This is a lovely poem.

Yep, that's how it works. Our babies become parents themselves, then they grow old, leaving their children and grandchildren to carry on for them. I'm sure every parent of a grown son can look at the child and see the toddler hiding in the six-foot muscular form. The wheel of life keeps turning, just a little too fast for my taste. :)

Didn't realize it at the time since we were so busy, but that time just flew by, didn't it?! :) Thanx for your review, Phyllis - much appreciated, as always! :) :) Yvette :)

This is so well written with a sweet mother's heart. This is not too mushy for me! I have three grown sons and three grandsons. All are grown up in their own way or fully grown. This is a wonderful entry for the Love Poem Contest.

The picture appears sideways for me. I am not sure why. I am sure it's fixable.

All my best,
Sal xo

Yeah, it's pretty mushy for me, but I am so very glad you could relate, Sally -- you know how much our boys mean to us (even though there are times you wanted to kill them -- LOL!) :) ;) And, thanx, I re-loaded the photo after re-formatting. It actually was correct to me the whole time, but the reformatting should fix it permanently -- thanx for that heads-up! :) :) Take care and have a great remainder of the week! ;) Yvette

It gets better! I adored my girls, and every now and then I cursed the day the dinner table when they left, 6 years apart. But the new additions, the beautiful boys and girls that come along, charm you beyond reason. Beautfully written Yvette, wonderful words, that draws love from your heart, three lovely boys, (my elder daughter has three boys, wanted a girl, not game to try) well done Yvette, great entry, blessings, Roy

That is so true. I have my two sons, and I'd do anything for them (within reason, lol). I also know, now they are parents of grown children, (my darling grandchildren) they would do anything within their power for me. No one knows what love is until they feel that flutter, you are so right. After I had to have a hysterectomy, I was so upset that I'd never feel that flutter again. I loved your poem, they do love you, they do break your heart, they do come back and love you even more. :)) Good luck in the contest, this is a lovely entry. :) Sandra xxx

Yvette,

This was just beautiful. And it sums up soooo much. It's true. The love starts really before, but that flutters' the moment you KNOW there's something that might love you back. *smile* This was especially precious to me because I'm going through hard stuff with my boy right now. Thank you!

Oh, Robin -- thank you for those lovely stars...although I hate that you are where you are with one of yours...but, you know, it's like there's always drama with one or the other...(usually one more than the other two...lol!). ;) :) Appreciate the lovely comments and I'll be thinking about you! :) ;) Yvette

Hello Yvette,

That is a sweet picture of your boys and a lovely poem to go with it. It's fun to look through the old pictures and realize how much time has gone by. It makes me feel old. Le sigh...

Your picture is sideways. When that happens to me I go back and resize my picture to be a bit smaller and then it comes back right way up. Or I edit it to turn it around, if it lets me.

Best wishes in the contest.

Joy xx
