Hi, Yvette,

Yes, I do believe our children are our 'crowning achievement' in life. I can't believe how fast the 'parenting years,' flew by. As an empty nester, I wasn't truly happy until my grandbabies arrived.

And they are just the cream on top.

Thank you for sharing your boys and your maternal feelings,

~patty~

Actually thought about you, in particular, as I wrote the last few lines of this one, Patty, and, especially as I posted -- just know that I do keep you and yours close in thought and prayer .... Thanx so much for the review -- the beautiful person and mother that you are comes through in your writing and I'm glad to 'know' you! :) ;) Take good care! :) Yvette

What a wonderful and loving tribute to your "young men", Yvette.

Though I found it a "jerky" read without much flow, I was entranced by the story unfolding and related strongly to my own family. Every parent who reads this will at some stage both smile widely and tear up. I have, in my wallet, a photo of the cheekiest little 3 year old boy who ever walked the Earth. Today he's a 31 year old, six-foot three inch 230 pound bridge maintenance worker.

But he's still my little man.

Sometimes the tale eclipses the technique. Nice work, Yvette.

YM: you are their precious Mom forever, too. They love you and
someday you'll be a grandma and your heart will flutter again. I'm
still a helicopter Mom and my daughters are out of state. Yes, nothing
better than Mom's love. Enjoy your guys... Mushy and wonderful.

Y. M. Roger,

You did a wonderful job with this challenge. The flow was very nice. The theme was good. Telling things plainly and comprehensibly. Rhyming is successfully done. The artwork complemented your poem.

There was no SPAG. No typos. No homophones. No problems at all.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

Good luck in the contest Yvette. You definitely captured the essence of parenthood within your words. All of those events do happen while raising children, but those events are what create memories. Very well done.

You've explained what it is like to be a parent perfectly, Yvette.
I love your poem and the accompanying picture.
I also have three children myself, but one is a girl. They are 28, 23 and 14 now. Where did the time go?
Thanks for sharing.

You have my vote. Every verse you so carefully crafted talks about my life, about my children. All that I have done or will do is about them. Well done expressing it.
