Thanks for your warm thoughts. The beautiful thing about Brooke and her poetry is that she will still be with us. Thanks to her having her poetry placed under eternal flame, you can now read it at your leisure and come to love it as so many of us do.

I didn't know Brooke either. I have read some of her poems since her passing and they are lovely.
She must have been a very nice lady.

I'm so sorry you never knew her directly, dear Ulla, but I'm glad you get to experience how much people admired and appreciated her goodness and caring as well as her poetry. She is one of the shiniest gems of Fastorian history and will always be remembered.

Hi rama, No, I missed her by a few months. I joined and wrote and read only prose and then she fell ill. Such a big shame, and my loss. All best. Ulla:)))

I never read her either and I feel entirely the same way. Thank you, Ulla, for writing something that expresses exactly the same way I feel. I see that she was around for a long time and I too feel the same towards anyone who was here and contributed. I hope her family will know that anyone who contributes and has had some input here in Fan Story will be remembered and that is a comfort. Cheers, Fonda

Yes, I knew her as well. She was a great help. Valley Forge PA I think is where she lived. I miss her corrections of my work. Many times she was right on. A great lady who wrote great work. Thanks for sharing.

Ulla, this is very sad, and well-written. Sad because it is saying goodbye to a marvelous person, but also sad because you never took the chance to know her, to benefit from her exemplary reviews. But if this helps, she left one heck of a legacy with some of us. A little bit of Brooke's teaching belongs to some members still here. :)

Thanks a lot, Dawn. I would have loved to get to know her, but I never got the chance. I was so new on the site, and I hadn't read that much poetry when she fell ill. It was only much later that I learned what a talented and well loved person she was. It's my loss. All best. Ulla xx

How sweet you are to participate with us in saying goodbye to a dear and talented friend. I think, if you're around here for any length of time, you are going to hear about certain people - people like Alvin and Brooke and Mikey. It's unavoidable. And isn't that cool?

It makes me feel, even more, that this really IS like a family -- though it can frequently seem like a rather dysfunctional one, for sure. *smile*

Robyn, I know how loved she was, I simply joined the site when she fellill shortly after. At the time, I didn't read poetry either and then I came across hers. Hugs to you. Ulla:)))
