This is quite an intriguing story and is exceptionally well written. It is an enjoyable read and you leave your audience wondering what his decision will be.

It could be just me, but I think if you insert "the" before "main," this will read more fluidly.

I think this sentence sums up this dramatic chapter, and then Charles rescuing the fly swimming in the pink gin. Great chapter Tony. It seems Charles is going to be in for more intrigue whether he wants to or not.

I think this sentence sums up this dramatic chapter, and then Charles rescuing the fly swimming in the pink gin. Great chapter Tony. It seems Charles is going to be in for more intrigue whether he wants to or not.

Of all the strange associations this might have stirred up in me the 'hurricane' of 1987 was probably the least likely, but I followed in your footsteps from Paddington across Hyde Park, not to the RAF Club but to a business meeting of Miller's in St James, not long after that destructive wind. Hyde park presented a dismal picture at that time with all the fallen trees.
Then we were out of memory lane, transported neatly into a James Bond world where our hero finds himself now at the mercy of the British Secret Service rather than the French authorities or drug smugglers. This is a great tale and I am enjoying all its twists and turns.
The ending of this chapter, with the rescue ofvthe poor fly from the Wing Commander's discarded pink gin was a perfect parallel, and a lovely touch to end on.

Yes, I remember that. My mother lived in Buxted at the time, just outside Uckfield. Over half the trees in the historic Park were destroyed. I visited it a few weeks later. The devastation was tragic.
My hapless fly seems to have gone down well with a number of reviewers.
