Hi Dove,
Ha ha ha! This is a great write about a drink and a funny contest entry. I'm sure this poem will fare well in the competition. Nothing here for me to suggest you consider reworking. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest. Jan :-)

My grandma used to make me a whiskey toddy whenever I had a cold. It worked better than the doctor's medicine but soured (pun intended) me on drinking for the rest of my life.

Nice rhyming here and your poem about a whiskey sour is easy to read. I can't make any suggestions for improvement and didn't pick up any spags. Well done.

You did a great job, Dove, with your contest entry. I like the monorhyme of each verse. Your words flow well to tell this little story. The picture is a great pairing with your words. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

A very well-written poem about the drinking of a whiskey sour. The only alcohol I ever had was table wine from time to time, I do not like its taste very much so I prefer not to drink anything at all.

cute. . .but with that said, I think stanza number three can use a little editing to match the others. As I was reading it, I discovered that a few words could be left out and actually attain the same meaning. . .but of course, it's your poem and you prefer the poem this way. Okay. :)

The whiskey certainly gave you a glow here and we used to drink it in the cold winter to warm us from the inside, your first stanza is my favourite, whiskey is a little risky! love Dolly x

This was a good piece. I really enjoyed the flow with it and the imagery of this one. Alcohol does have a way of changing people. Nice job and good luck in the contest.
