Yes, this little scene does bring two of the storylines together. The cats were just too much fun. The disturbance may have kept Maggies' attention off of the men, though, and perhaps she should have been paying closer attention?
Will they whisk her away?

I liked all the by play between characters, your story contains a lot of subtle innuendo, pretty well like the characters in your story, one needs to be reasonably intuitive to read the plot, and work out why the characters are where they are. Is there some background to the characters Yvette? Or will that unfold with the story. Change of scene in this story, with mysterious characters present. Well done, good episode,, blessings, Roy

The only 'background' I provide are the previous chapters where I try to reveal a little about each one. I have been trying to add what I reveal at the bottom without giving away more...I'll double check that and see if it's 'up-to-date'. :) :) Thanx for keeping up, Roy -- so appreciated! ;) ;) Yvette ;)

My goodness, Lady! You have quite the imagination! What a hoot! And you also have quite the gift for description and dialogue. Loved the part about the felines...and the "snort." My mother always accused me of snorting as opposed to laughing. In fact, she even threatened to send me to a finishing school for said inability to "laugh like a lady!" :)
So two little things that you can totally dismiss...or not:
her and Lars' direction, (Okay...So we both know I have been around a LONG time, but I believe that in a phrase like the above, the noun goes before the pronoun - or the noun goes before the speaker: Lars' and her direction....the former...
Suddenly, the poor man looked like he was the subject of an inquisition or something (as equally uncomfortable) (I just thought "or something" needed a bit of "something." :)
This chapter flows well and is realistic. Kudos! Big time!

I hope you can't tell (too badly!!) it's the end of the quarter....but I needed to get this out there (it's my very own kick in the butt to me!!) -- to make me 'forget about school' and get busy!! :) :) Thanx for having my back, Lady D! :) ;) Oh, and weather up date: high was in the mid-seventies yesterday...rained all evening and into the night....and the hight today?
