You did a great job with your rhyming poem, Melissa. This could have been entered in the rhyming poem contest. Good job on the great rhymes, the smooth flow of lines, and the poignant story. Your ending was bittersweet, but appropriate. The picture is a great pairing with your well-chosen words. Thanks for sharing. Jan

What a beautiful poem and I love the picture of the pearl necklace and red rose! I like how you say there's a story that each pearl tells. How we all put meaning behind our jewelry from who gave it to us and symbolically what it means to us. Nice job!

Hum. I think of adewpearl as I read this. She shared with so many of us on here. A dear sweet soul who so dearly loved her grandson and wrote about him daily in her lovely poetry. Blessings, Barbara

Sweet and romantic work that tells of life in little bits of dreams. Pearls are life's sweetest bits and this is a lovely poem. One day you will walk with him again and bask in love.

This is a sad and moving poem. Some presents are like this strand of pearls, full of memories and really valuable because of that.
Very enjoyable. Thanks.

What a beautiful poem. It's so well-written, descriptive, interesting that you took the reader though a recollection of your life with you. All the ups and downs you and your partner faced. The ending line is so well worded that I could feel your sadness, your heartache.

Simply beautiful, Melissa. And if this dumbass review box would let me, that would be my review....my mom and both my grandmothers always told me that a string of pearls was sophisticated, simple and living beauty....did not overwhelm a fancy dress yet was the perfect accent to a simple one. Your poem here is simply the statement of two lives shared as one...yet in the end, it is the accent to one. Again, simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing! ;) Yvette

This is an incredibly beautiful, evocative, meaningful story of a life. The pearls as a symbol of all of the milestones, love, birth, death, is perfect. Not a wrong word in the entire poem. Lovely.

Ugh. You have made me ugly-cry here, Melissa. No doubt someone important is on the way to my door because isn't that the way Fate always plans things? This was absolutely beautiful, and I will remember it with love every time I see pearls now for the remainder of my days. Very special work here. xo

A beautifully orchestrated dance of life, with its sorrows,
its joys as two people glide through life, and one leaves, and the other is left with the memories of this dance of life.
Well done
