Wow -- your formatting in this mix of free verse and some rhyme really hits home how there once was a relationship and belonging here, but now it is gone .... heartbreaking. Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette

Well done - a poem of deep despair and loss. The picture you chose sure supports your poem. Is this a certain form - or just something you used to create your poem?
The "bare room now jailers" - good line. Makes me think of Gentleman Jim Reeves and his "Four Walls" - he's one of my favorites. You're prob. too young to know these songs.

I don?t think so! I?m 70. The image was chosen for the ?picture this challenge? club. The image each month, is open to interpretation. I?m glad you enjoyed my version. Thanks for your positive review

Wow, I have not visited the site in a few months. It is so nice to return to read this poem. Feelings of sadness, regret and loss oozes from the computer screen.

This poem would have been a great entry for the mirror contest as well.

Thank you for sharing raw emotions. Hopefully, writing this poem was therapeutic for you if this poem is non-fictional.

This was an ekphrastic interpretation. I wrote as the emotions came to me from the picture. I?m really happy that the emotions had impact for you. Welcome back and thank you for your great review and stars.

A very well-written poem and an excellent interpretation of the picture. We can see the place was a wonderful place before it is ruined. There are many scenarios that could make the detoriorate until the current condition.

Your content matches the challenge of writing a Romance poem. The images you've created (for example: empty mirror, rotting floors, bare walls) allow the reader to anxiously participate. Each section floats easily into the next creating a tight package that's painful on the eyes and ears for the reader. I also also like your choice of graphic/photo.

My goodness gracious Lobber! What a great review and stars you honor me with. This image is given to all the challenge club ?picture this? members and we each interpret the scene how we want to write about it. Thank you again

This was a good read, Bucketlist. The emotion and pain are very strong in it and the words are powerful reminders of what used to be. Great job of writing.
