Wasn't it Sandburg who coined the phrase, "Someday they will give a war and nobody will come?" ABCDE, even the last line's in step. Excellent abc poem.

I really enjoy the sentiment in this wee poem. Such a cool line, does peace erupt if no one's there to fight? It's quite possible this is in fact truthful.

Living life with less is good but not so little that that also becomes a burden.

Excellent write and I wish you much luck with the Contest Committee.

Gloria

Loved the message in your ABC poem, Craig. I think you have a winner here and my favorite line was:
"Does peace erupt if no one's there to fight?"
The joy of people just living in harmony like the boys in your picture is the best wealth.

I enjoyed your contest entry, Craig. Great job with the letter selection and the message. The picture is great, too. Those boys look like they are enjoying life even if they have little in the way of material things. Your entry is well presented. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

This is a very nicely composed poem. Image is adorable. Cute kids. This is the most important line from my point of view:
"Beloved, the mind that does not harbour spite."
It would be so nice if everyone felt that way.
Good luck in the contest.

I heartedly approve of where you are going with this one, Craig. My favorite part of this poem is the descriptive line and the last two lines. Oh, and that photo. I can't quit looking at those adorable little boys. Those boys have time on their hands. They have to fill it with their own imagination. Their burden is light. And matters don't change when we start talking about adults. Less is less stress. Period.
This is a good entry my humble friend.

Less is most definitely more. Some of my happiest times were spent in circumstances that had no connection to material wealth, even what is considered normal comfort. When peace of mind is the norm, there's room for love and joy, and no room for hate.

What a wonderful message in your small ABC poem, Craig. Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks so much for the great comments, Dawn, and for the good luck wishes as well. The ability of wealth to bring happiness is certainly overrated. Cheers, Craig
