Hmmm, traumataters, now that's a new one on me.
I can imagine the changing expressions on Mildred's face as you reveal the story of the Vice Admiral. I was shocked that she came to it so easily with"Always a first time, I s'pose."
Love the easy going humor between them. I like how they contemplate the problem. I smiled at the itching bandage.
You are soooo good at leaving us hanging! Well done!

Thank you so much, Tom, for this lovely review. Mildred was only teasing Veronica, getting her own back. Mildred couldn't kill anyone, she a softy really. But she has come up with an idea.... I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, my friend, thank you. :)) Sandra xxx

Ah...the plot thickens. LOL! Love the way you ended this on a note of mystery.

Suggestions:

too busy getting the patients out to safety. (either: out of harm's way (or) to safety)

Can't even be called human,(.) (H)e's got t' be one of the devil's favourites! It seems t' me, [you're(yur or yur'n)] ideas the only way we can stop him."

"I dunno what I'd be capable of doin' if I saw Ann or Michael in desperate trouble by one of them murderin' devils. Don't think you'd know either," (." omit she told us.)

would be a livin' misery(,) too(,) if he goes ahead an' changes how the war ends.

I sighed,(.) James was right.

He'd be tried for murder and, hopefully, that would put paid to him interfering with the outcome of the war." (I'm not familiar with this expression 'put paid to him'; therefore, the sentence seems awkward to me.)

A huge smile broke out on Mildred's face. "So, that's what we's gotta do(omit ,) then," she said brightly. "How's we goin' t' do it?"

I shrugged. "That's the problem,(;) I don't know."

"I can't really see you swinging an axe into his head,(.) (I)t would be too heavy. Shooting him would be easier(,) but you'd need to find a gun ... but I don't know how hard that would be seeing as there's a war going on. You'd have to practice using one ...(.)

"What about poison?" Mildred (asked)said, frowning and tilting her head in

I dropped my head back(,) and looking up at the ceiling, I groaned (omit loudly).

If anyone can do it, she can,(.) I mean to say, she was there!"

Perhaps(,) you could have a quiet word with Tommy,(.) (H)e might open up to you.

(0mit At least) (W)ith the other assignments(,) we had things we could sort out back here in our own time, but with this one...." I shook my head.

"I've missed them. It's been ages since I last played with them," Mildred added as she (went to stand up and follow me.) (stood to follow me.)

Enjoyed!

Thank you so much for another helpful review, Linda. I can certainly use some of your suggestions, others are UK way, and Mildred's way or a synonym. The expression 'put paid to' is just one of them, means to bring an end to, or stop someone doing something awful... It's a common expression in the UK. I've learnt many things about the differences in our English language. It's quite incredible really. Our spellings are quite different in as far as we would use 'ou' while you just use the 'o' (favour/favor) And again, many of our expressions are unknown to the Americans, as are some of yours to us. Such fun! LOL. Thanks again, my friend. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

Thanks for the lesson on "Put paid to." Yes, it is amazing the differences. I enjoy learning about them. : ) Mildred's "you're" I read as "you are." I so agree! Such fun!

LOL! Can you really see our Mildred with a gun? She'd most likely point it the wrong way and blow her head off!! No, you're right, if she missed, he would throttle her instead. I wonder what Mildred's idea is, she hasn't even told me yet! And she knows I wouldn't breathe a word to anyone else! No trust these days, just can't get the characters any more! Oh, well. Thank you so very much for all those beautiful stars, my friend. I've decided you can play Mildred in the film, at least I can rely on you! lol!!! Love you lots, and sending a load more hugs! :))) Sandra xxxx

I love how you had us going with Mildred committing murder...and then ended with a solution to a seemingly impossible problem...it entices us to read more. That's very good writing.
Well done
God bless

Aw, thank you, Jenny. Mildred would probably mess it up and shoot herself in the foot if she was given a gun!! LOL. Thank you so much for the six stars, my friend, and the lovely review. :)) Sandra xxx

Hello Sandra!
I so admire your ability to balance dialogue among/between three speakers and make it all sound intelligible and frolicking at the same time. Whant an imagination you have! Delightful story-telling that keeps this reader engaged. Love the dialect and "traumataters" is definitely "one to remember!"
Thank you for sharing!!

This is a wonderful addition to the book. I thought talking to Gladys was a good idea. They are time travelers, and should be able to see how she died. If Tommy doesn't think his mom was murdered than the question is was she. I understand the Vice Admiral will change the past for form a present that is undesirable for Mildred and Veronica. I don't see how they can change the past to get a present they want. I hope Mildred does know a way to get rid of the Vice Admiral. Still more questions. I look forward to the answers and the next chapter. Well done. This flows well. It was an easy read to follow, and had me glued and now I am even more intrigue as to what will happen.

Thank you so much for this very thoughtful review, Sandra. Veronica only wants to stop the VA from changing the ending of the war which would change the world as it is today. If she can't stop him altering the place the last sea battle took place, everyone's life would be changed. Including mine!! LOL. I know if we'd truly lost the war, I wouldn't be here, because my grandfather would have died in WW1. Not a nice thought. As I've been writing this story I've been horrified to realise just how much would have changed. Yes, I'm with you wanting to Mildred's idea to work. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Why does he have to confess? There's a war going on. They could write a note that will send him to a building they know is going to be hit by a bomb. Let the war kill him.
I have faith they will figure out a way to get it done. Well done Sandra. Nancy:)

There is a devious side to you, Nancy!! LOL! I never thought of that, it's a great idea. I might use that in another book. We'll see what Mildred's plan is. Thank you so much for this brilliant review. You gave me a huge giggle. Big hugs, my friend. ;)) Sandra xxx

I enjoyed this chapter, Sandra. While the topic of murdering someone isn't pleasant, you did a good job expressing the thoughts/feelings of the characters. I liked the dialogue. As always, it adds to the overall effect instead of just writing Mildred did this, James did this . . . I am interested to find out what the cliffhanger will reveal. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Now that they're back, they realise that neither Veronica, nor Mildred are capable of killing a man, no matter how much he deserves it. So they Ste about "cooking" up a plan, such as getting the Admiral to confess murde ring Gladys. Extra good Episode Sandra, blessjngs, Roy
