This is a very powerful poem and I enjoyed the play on words in the final line. The alliteration is highly effective and the reader is able too conjure vivid images from few words. Thanks for sharing

Good to see you post, DD! I like your picture though, I never see so many crows crowded together like that. They are raucous birds but so very intelligent. I like your play on words and wonder would two or three be still a "murder" or merely an attempted one?

A 'murder' of crows is such a strange term isn't it? We have crows around here and their cries could certainly be called raucous. I don't like the crows although apparently they are very intelligent.

Hi Judy, thank you for your review of my short poem. Yes, a murder of crows can be very noisy and much of a distraction for it but they are supposedly a smart bird. Have a good day :-) ~DD

A murder is a most descriptive collective noun for crows, whose combined cawing is most chilling - especially at the close of the day. Foul play is obviously at work here!
