This poem was so good. When you do see a bird gracefully flying it does make you want to do that too. I completely get it. This was well thought out and written. I also liked your picture it was good also.

Great job with this 5-7-5, Steve! Every time we see them in flight, we think of pterodactyls. I like how you surprise us with the aching shoulders referring not to the heron but the ache due to the inability to fly.

I really admire this poem. If only we could fly; to shrug off the cares of the world and soar like a graceful heron. I think most people have dreams of flying, to escape the aching grind of conventional life.
