It's not a point so much as a perfect circle.

A point, a perfect circle, a continuous arc?
Your philosophy on life is a mirror of mine... except for the gap where I don't have children. Nice that we can revert to playtime again in our Golden Years.
I have noticed something strange... I have got myself as one of your 'followers' but I am not getting notified when you post something... I only noticed this poem by random grazing. I will have to check and re-follow you perhaps.

That could be because it's a blind contest entry? I'm still figuring my way around this site.

And why am I not surprised that our philosophies are the same?

I am glad the golden age brings forth positive, and once again the goal posts move. I often wonder where my train of thoughts will take me...so glad to see where yours are derived, and where they gather still.
Well done.
My best wishes.
Have a great day.

My mentor taught me this, and it's the best advice I ever received in my entire life: Always choose joy. It made all the difference for me.

Thank you for this very nice review. I truly appreciate it.

This is probably the greatest story of all second only to the coming of Christ and his life and death. It is what was given to each of us with the hope that we will make the best of our lives. Good poetry explaining this in brief detail. Bless you, author. Good job. Bob

Thank you, Mastery. I credit the person who was has been my mentor/mom-substitute for the past many decades. She taught me this mantra (plus she lives it, herself): Always choose joy. And I do, and Life is so much easier that way.

I really appreciate your kind, encouraging review. It means the world to me.

It's all about attitude, right, gmartinez? It seems to me as if you wrote the book on that concept! So thank you for saying you see it in this poem. That means a lot to me.

I love the circle you have laid out here. It has a very hopeful tone. Your stanzas are well-constructed and your rhymes work well together. It's a very pleasant read. I enjoyed this very much.

Thank you, Connie. And I loved reading this review. It was specific in a way that helps me know what "worked" for you, the reader, and that's how I can continue to write successfully. I appreciate the thought and time that went into what you wrote.

Sounds very much like a cycle, where you go through certain things and if you perhaps do things correctly, you wind up back at the point from which you started. Older, wiser and so much more appreciative of both the things you have learned and the things you have achieved.

A friend of mine taught me decades ago to "always choose joy," so that is what I do. And she was so right because it makes life a lot easier and more fulfilling that way.

Thank you for the time and thought that went into your really nice review. It made me feel very good as I read it, and I appreciate that.

Wonderful!! I really like the rhythm and beat of this poem. It flows so smoothly and freely. Each stanza tells of a different idea to work the poem together into a masterpiece! You've painted the human life cycle well here and so poetically in structure, rhythm, and overall presentation. Great colour choices!! Personally, I still think I'm in the first stage, the stanza, in the 'youth' stage still into my thirties, lol. I don't think I ever got past stage one in my generation, so in ways I have a hard time relating to the poem as I've never married or had kids, just achievement bound still trying to find my career and way. In my generation everything seems delayed compared to this poem, where the older generation would relate more. Otherwise, I'd give this poem a six. I still have such trouble relating to the older generation. Life must start around forty for us younger generations? I guess things are just a lot harder, maybe? I really enjoyed reading this!! It reads out very well!

    Thank you, you young whippersnapper!!
You put so much thought and consideration into this review, which helps me immensely.
The older generation didn't need to be as educated in order to be well-employed as your generation does, Ross. I think that' s the biggest factor in why your contemporaries are arriving at milestones later. And really, are they any worse for wear as a result? I think not. So, enjoy your present life, and don't worry about a time line. Things fall into place when they're meant to.

Very nice poetry. I wish you good luck in the competition. You have set how just how life goes. The sweetest is the last. Enjoying the last years of our lives. Do not sit idle, being sad...laugh and enjoy the time you have. Very good offering!

It's so true, Miss Sherry. A friend and mentor told me the following years ago: Always choose joy. And it made all the difference in my life.

Thank you for your lovely words and the well-wishes for the contest.
