Hi Debbie,

You have inspired me with your lists here. I will always think of David Letterman as the List guy.

I have made note of your Sister books by Ann George. It is now on my list of books to get with a note that you recommended it. Is this a series of books? I am taking part in a reading challenge on the Goodreads site to read 50 books in 2019. I'm a slow reader so 50 is as much as I can hope for.

Joy xx

You will love Anne George. It's not heavy reading, but she has a special touch. She was actually nominated for a Pulitzer prize for her poetry and her Southern sisters mystery series has won the Agatha award. She is from Birmingham so her work is extra special to me. Here is the list of the Southern sisters stories. I'd read them in order. They sound silly, but they are wonderful.
Murder on A Girls' Night Out (1996)
Murder on A Bad Hair Day (1996)
Murder Runs in the Family (1997)
    Murder Makes Waves (1997)
    Murder Gets A Life (1998)
    Murder Shoots the Bull (1999)
    Murder Carries A Torch (2000)
    Murder Boogies with Elvis (2001)

Yes, I ordered the first book of the series. It says there are eight books in the series. Is the author still alive and writing?

I hope you enjoy them. You'll be my soulmate for life if you do. I listen on an audio version because the reader is so good. We also have the hard copies though.
Anne George died a few years ago while undergoing elective heart surgery. Her daughter had to finish the editing for Murder Boogies with Elvis. Her daughter wants to continue the series, but I don't think that she has been able. Anne didn't start writing until late in life. Such a shame.

Interesting answers here, Deb. Peach cobbler is to die for in my book. any pie , really. I can do without all cakes. LOL strange differences, eh? My fave movie of all time is "Shane" the 1953 western. Realism art its finest and yet good old fashioned plot. Bless you, Deb. Bob

I saw Shane years ago. I will have to rewatch it. Last week I watched the remake of True Grit, so I'm in the mood for westerns, I guess. You should do a list. I would love to have more suggestions.

What I would give to hear Dad read Robert Service one more time. He had much of it memorized. It's my favorite book on the shelf.

hahahaha!

Nice way of setting up your list a bit differently, Debbie. I'm sure other people will read this and smile, just as I did. Thanks so much. Hope your day is bright!

Hi Debbie,

Thank you so much for your humorous chapter, and for sharing a bit about yourself. It's always great to get to know more about our friends here on FS.

This is very well written; however, I do notice a line break problem here:

"The Voice and So You Think You Can
Dance each take home the prize. "

Perhaps removing the hard line break at the end of the first line will enhance the visual presentation of your well-written prose.

Thanks for sharing,

Jan

Thank you, Jan. I will fix that. Many people are not familiar with So You Think You Can Dance. Your suggestion will help them understand.

It's great reading what others choose as their favourite this, that and the other. I would be dithering for ages if I were trying to choose my favourites in these categories. But I wouldn't include popcorn. :)

Oh, I am so sorry for you. I get so much joy from my popcorn. :) As to compiling my favorites, most categories were hard to choose. Tomorrow I might think differently, but I do adore everything on my list.
