This is stunningly gorgeous -- verse as well as the visual presentation. That is such a beautiful image and it complements your verse perfectly.

Nothing here that I can see for me to suggest you improve upon, except to add an extra blank line or two before your text to center your verse in the space.

This winter has been so miserable, fantasies is about all we have! I see your point. I have some windows that face that way, too. A nice release for winter woes is to write some poetry - or, prose.

the feel of winter is cold
lady fish, shapely snowflake
the ocean roars, oh so bold
they celebrate in ocean's wake

They do not seem to suffer from the cold, since they have adapted so well to it.

What I love about your poem, Elaine, is that it has such a delightful tone to it, full of fantasy as the snow fairies and mermaids celebrate. And, of course, who else but you would know how to write about the mermaids in such a lovely way. Your poem has some very nice imagery as well.
