Writing on a computer, I understand, is the way most people do it now, but I've never gotten used to it. I always write on paper, and change and edit there. I only use a computer for the transfer to the website or to make a copy for printing. I know I'm a bit of a dinosaur, but it does not feel like writing to me unless I'm doing it on paper.

I can't write on paper, I don't like it, but many famous writers do it and say it's better to stimulate the creative process.
    Thanks for reading.

This was really good, Maria Jose Garcia. You make such a good point, and in such a humorous way. We all intend to write the important novel, but we can't even write the first chapter. Great job.

Many will relate to this hazard of the digital age. You write in a friendly conversational manner.
I am a little confused though: you say you wrote to your neighbour (was she back in Madrid?) and the charger appeared just like that. Was it an email and she drove to your little country house?... the postal service there must be amazing otherwise.

I wrote to my neighbor in the countryside, not my neighbor in Madrid. She lives there all year round and is most helpful.
    Thanks for reading.

Been there so many times, and now that I've actually done it, I'm too old to do much with it! lol. So fame and fortune won't be coming my way. So, now your laptop is fully charged, sit down and do it now! I liked this little piece, I 'm sure many reviewers will tell you they've been in the same place. :)) Sandra xxx

Hi Maria :)
A nice engaging piece - You set the scene well and the emotions come through. (the excitement, the determination and the frustration).
I like how it comes full circle...your Great American Novel will be written, eventually!
Nice humour in this piece.
Well written,
Best wishes, Debra :)

Haha - I too would have been too tired and frustrated to begin writing after all of that. A novel is so much work! This was an enjoyable read. Best Wishes, Lou

A very well-written flash fiction about the masterpiece novel that was planned but not seem to realize after all the things that went wrong there is very little chandge to get started.

I've been there! How frustrating is it when you don't have your charger! But your neighbour came to the rescue! I hope that your house in the country inspires you to write that masterpiece! Love Dolly x

I liked the idea of this, but there is definitely too much procrastination for this writer. lol

30% would be more than enough to make a start.
Why write to the neighbour? If it was local then a visit would be in order. Why didn't they write as it was charging?

That book will never get written....

I did WhatsApp her instead of going to her home. We always do that, even though she's my next door neighbor.
But you are right, I do procrastinate too much.
    Thanks for reading.

I think probably most aspiring writers dream they'll write a best seller, but the chances are about the same as becoming a top billed actor in Hollywood. There are some pretty good writers on fanstory, but it's tough out there. Beautfully written dear Marie,a great short story, lots packed in, well done, blessings, Roy
