Judi I love all the picks - there is nothing wrong with oldies, they are Goodies!!! Everything on your list is top notch and quality. You definitely did great job with your list!! Now if I could just get the one posted that I promised him for his book we will be square it will have some of your Authors and Books too, I am narrowing my list just so I can get something up for him. After my tech snafu and Mike's passing. Thank you for sharing I love your taste in everything - if I did my music by genre I would have these country artists as well!!! Cheers, Fonda

Thanks so much for the review and comments, Fonda. As I said, I used to listen to country music, but it's more city than country now. judi

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I don't think you're limited as to what your lists are. Maybe it's favorite foods or flowers, so don't let that stop you. judi

To Kill a Mockingbird, Jane Eyre
Gregory Peck is at the top of the list because of his performance in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen
Kate Smith (no one could sing "God Bless America" llke her)
Those are all among my own favorite oldies. I agree that the old ones are still best in many ways. As for newer movies, I love Blast from the Past and Becket.

I hardly ever see any of the new movies. We saw "Fargo" on DVD and I thought it was strange. I liked the earliest of the Harry Potter movies. I'm so glad we can heard those entertainers on YouTube. judi

Many of your favorites are the same of mine. I find that fascinating. Maybe because they're really great, LOL I always enjoy reading things like this. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Barbara, and thank you so much for the review and comments. As I mentioned, most of my choices are the oldies. judi

You have compiled a very good list. I agree with most of it. Musicals are an exception. I don't care for any of the singers you mentioned except the Beatles.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. We all have different tastes. I only liked the Beatles in their earlier careers. judi

Oldies are goodies. I love the really good shows..all in black and white ... the sound of music but I'm also a fan of JK Rowling's because i'd like to use my broom to fly not sweep..

Thanks so much for your review and comments. Love the one about using the broom to fly and not to sleep. You'd want to be a quidish player, then.

Thanks for sharing your lists, Judi!! So glad to know you love musicals, too. I also loved Mark Twain as a writer and was so sad that he was banned from school because of such ignorance seeing the past through today's sensibilities.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. It's silly the extent to which people find those things offensive. Especially since Twain created such a wonderful character in Jim. A song like "Let It Snow" couldn't even pass muster with some easily offended souls. And the prince should have asked the sleeping beauty's permission before he kissed her. How could he? She was asleep! People are making a fine art of taking offense. Didn't mean to get carried away. judi
