To Kill a Mockingbird is one of wife's favorite movies and books, I have to admit I've never readit or seen the movie. I like your list of music, you went old school. The same with your TV shows. I appreciate you participating in this book.

Thanks for your review and comments, Earl. Excellent idea on your part. Most of my choices were the oldies. judi

Yes, you clearly appreciate the classics. So do I. What struck me the most though was the extent of your lists. You love books. I have not done my lists, but ours would not be that dissimilar. I don't know of anyone who enjoys Lilllian Jackson Braun like I do. I have read each of Coco's books at least twice. And I read Agatha Christie every night, and I have for years. It's hard to beat Atticus Finch as the best character of all time. My son was in the play with community theater. He played Dill, and I watched it at least 20 times. We had a dog named Scout and a cat named Calpernia.
We have a lot in common.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I loved the Cat Who series, and was so sad when she died and the series ended. Your son was in the play "To Kill a Mockingbird." What a wonderful opportunity. They did that in the community theater where I live. Atticus's summation to the jury was brilliant. judi

Cheers, Judi;"
> Have you ever watched the movie, "Inherit the Wind", With Spencer Tracy is a type of religious apathetic lawyer who is battling another famous religious lawyer over the Darwinian theory. It's precious. Circa 1960. I like to watch the old ones. >After listening to my album you probably had my music to your list, or use it for Frisbee, or complementary coaster. Chuckle!. My website is (alexiskrysyna.com/songwriter)
> Most of the writers that you follow are also in my library and forms of paperbacks mostly because I can afford the hardcopies.
< I have six soft copies of fanstory books from different authors, But I really check out their work before purchase any of their material.
>What an interesting autobiography of sorts and thanks for sharing and take care and have a good one, Judi.

Oh, Yes, and I don't know what I didn't list "Inherit the Wind." It is a great movie, and I've seen the stage play. It makes a compelling play. And Spencer Tracy, another great one. Loved his movies with Katherine Hepburn. Both of the could outclass most of today's stars. Thanks much for the review and comments. judi

You're very welcome, Judi, yes, Spencer and Hepburn were a match made in Hollywood.

I love B&W too. The Purple Plain , The Boys from Brazil and The Omen are other favourites of mine.
I love Burt Lancaster in The Rose Tattoo,The Rainmaker, Elmer Gantry ( he was brilliant in that film ) , The Birdman of Alcatraz, The Cassandra Crossing and many other ..He was very dashing .

Peter O'Toole is another favourite :The Lion in Winter,The Night of the Generals, Lord Jim ( he was superb in that one), Murphy's War, Country Dance and so ..of course Lawrence but that was obvious .

I generally don't like musicals with the exception of ..Camelot ( Richard Harris '67), Moulin Rouge , Jesus Christ superstar .

Okay I'm a sci-fic nerd and I adore THE ORIGINAL SEREIS ..I fell in love with Spock at the age of 8.

I don't care for JAR JAR Abrams NuSpock.

Journey to Babel and All Our Tomorrows are my favourite episodes ..I bought the three seasons from Amazon.uk and yes they are also in Italian too !

Other sci-fic series I love : U.F.O , The Invaders, Humans, X-Files ..I don't care for dazzling space battles... have you seen the film Enemy MIne?

"Blade Runner " is my top sci-film. I haven't and don't care to see the sequel ..the original is perfect .

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I haven't seen "Enemy Mine." Usually sequels to movies are disappointing. You reminded me of "Elmer Gantry." That was a great movie indeed. You'll have to write your own lists! judi

I have to agree with practically everything on your list of entertaining favourites, although I think the original Star Trek starring William Shatner wasn't as good as the next generation. But I loved ypur line up. Well done, blessings, Roy

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I think I was just partial to William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in the original series.

We have much in common, dear Judi. It was nice to see your list and sneak a peek into the real you. I glean a lot from someone"s likes and favorites. My mom loved Kate Smith, she could really belt it out. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite movies and books of all time. Well chosen actor Gregory Peck made the movie unforgettable.
All my best,
Sal :+)

My wife burst into the front room demanding,"What are you laughing about?"
"I am reading the chapter about The Absolute Morfodite. It is hilarious." I replied, putting down "To Kill a Mockingbird."
You have good taste. Excellent post.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. "To Kill a Mockingbird" is one of my favorites. I understand there's a new stage version (a musical, I believe, that sounds rather questionable). judi

Judi,

This was fun. I liked a lot of these old goodies myself. There's nothing better than a good musical on a rainy day --okay -- or any day. *smile*

BTW, it's Welcome Back, (K)otter.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for your review and comments. Kotter--I knew that! You surely can't be old enough to remember that show. judi

Judi - we have some similar favorites -
Male actors - identical choices - loved Gregory Peck and others you mentioned, but would also add Cary Grant (Charade.)
Also, your first three movies and I just saw High Noon again the other night.
also, the musicals - loved most of the same ones. One of my "newer- ha! ones is Pirates of Penzance - British humor at its best, and Paint Your wagon, another favorite.
TV shows - also love the Mary Tyler Moore show and I added Fraser and Johnny Carson.
male singers - most of the same, but instead of Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli.
Music in my house, growing up - Mom loved classical and played it on our Victrola all the time. I remember going to sleep listening to it and I love it, too and have it playing most of the time, but also have to hear some country and old Rod and Diana Krall - and then, of course there's Alexa, who, in misunderstanding my commands, has introduced me to some music I hadn't known previously.
At any rate, I enjoyed your post.

Hi, Katharine. Thank you so much for the review and comments. I love the "Pirates of Penzance" too, also "The Mikado." I don't keep up with most of the currently popular singers or actors. Sounds like you've found some benefits to Alexa, after all! That's interesting. judi

You have good lists of your favorites. Sadly, I didn't connect with much of your listed favorites. Must be something wrong with me. More evidence that I'm a loner and don't fit in with the popular crowd. Oh well...

HI Joy. Maybe it's just because I'm older than you! So many of the people and things I mentioned were years in the past. Thanks for your review and comments. judi
