I got a chuckle out of this... it is very relateable. I like poetry that is accessible, relevant, universal, humorous, so this ticks those boxes for me.

I love the idea of us old folks having an affinity with other ancient things. That, plus the wonderful alliteration you so naturally fit in here should make this a contender in the 20 syllable contest - good luck!

Perspective as one gets older is everything. If a person is positive about aging, as it is written in your poem, you can take it with a sense of humor as you accept and enjoy it. People who are negative, die a very slow death. Good luck.

Ah yes Anon - the sea refuses no river.
This piece is a very pleasant and thoughtful use of the format. The words do not jar (which sometimes happens with the small formats) and your conclusion is a wonderful declaration of our oneness with all things.
I wish you well with this piece and your further writing.
cheers
phill

-Nice image and presentation.
-The syllable count is good,
and the imagery is effective.
-I like your title, too.
-Effective alliteration with
the '-s' sound.
-I also like "ancient silt"
and how you reference
it in your ending, which
is a good one.
-Good luck in the contest.

This was an enjoyable read, unknown poet. I really liked the flow of it and the way you summed it up was perfect. Nice use of the artwork as well. Good job and good luck in the contest.
