This was an interesting chapter, Barbara. You've really got my curiosity going and I can't wait for the next park. Good descriptions and action. Also, good touch about the toasted ravioli, at St Louis specialty. This size post works for me, but either way is fine. You write so well the flow works.

So it seems like it was a very good idea to to follow Mackenzie into the bar to see how she's doing, he discovers her laid out with two mysterious guys hovering over her. Takes her to her unit, but opts out when he discovers her dog's waiting to eat him. Lays her on a pare bed in his hotel room. Well done, Barbara, excellent episode, blessings, Roy

So it seems like it was a very good idea to to follow Mackenzie into the bar to see how she's doing, he discovers her laid out with two mysterious guys hovering over her. The plit thickens. One typo, paragraph 5 ...You mean to say she but you said he... I hope what they put in her water was just a sleeping drug and not poison. But at least he sees what her would-be attackers look like.
