This is well written and gives good information. Do you explain how to calculate your BMR at a later point in your writings? People are always keen to read tips on how to lose weight.

Yep, makes sense to me! I am not very active and don't need very much for food. Alot of times I don't eat Breakfast or might just eat a granola bar. Then find something to much on for lunch and then eat a good size dinner. Hubby tends to want a snack, usually a bowl of cereal at night before we go to bed. He is slowly loosing weight but not because he is trying really hard. Happy Writing, katy

Counting Caroline's is not easy you put things in your mouth without giving it a thought because hey you are hungry and it is usually your favorite foods you love to eat.

Miranda,

Hmmm... I'm not sure you can make general statements like that. I think caloric intake depends on a lot of variables.

As I double-checked my thoughts, I found these things you may want to consider:

"Factors that effect your personal daily calorie requirements include your age, height and weight, your basic level of daily activity and your body composition."
--> https://www.weight-loss-center.net/calories_needed_a_day.html

"...every person is so different metabolically even when they are the same size and gender."
--> https://www.webmd.com/diet/guide/calories-chart

As you'll see in the examples on these websites, most dieticians will only recommend that you carve out about 500 calories from a 2000 calorie diet which will provide the loss of about a pound a week.

For SOME people 1000-1200 calories a day could mean the loss of too many nutrients, and actually starving themselves so I would caution you to be really careful about recommending this option as a diet to others. Especially if you don't have the medical training to truly explain all the ins and outs or to answer all the questions folks might have.

I think it's absolutely perfect for you to share this info as tactics that YOU have used, but I would suggest eliminating the 'you' in the chapter. That way the post only describes what YOU have done and have had success with. Then, if someone tries what you have done, you won't be responsible in any way, shape or form for their decisions. Does that make sense?

I'm really not trying to offend you - just protect you and your readers. Good luck!!

This is a good tip about the calories we consume. I have been on a 1200 calorie diet since may 13 and have lost 57.6 pounds. My advice for those who want to lose and don't count calories, I just say, "take what you want on your plate, then put half of it back." Patricia

A very slight offering here in regard to wordage. Will every post be a short bite-size piece like this? I hope not as it could get very old very quick.

All the best
