This was fun reading from top to bottom. . .including the description. Lovely poem as well and thank you for all the info. This discipline unfolded into a lovely piece of writing.

Very nice tribute to one species of our precious pollinators! Butterflies are amazing creatures (as are bees!). This is very well written; nothing here for me to suggest improving upon.
had no idea that butterflies are so territorial! I certainly hope this is not one of the species that will be decimated if the National Butterfly Refuge is destroyed to build "the wall." :-(((((
Your author's notes are excellent as well. I Thanks so much for sharing and the education on butterfly behavior!
