Hi there,

Great, until the day he gets done and ends up locked in a juvenile detention centre where he descends into a life of debauchery, petty theft and drugs... sorry, that would be my version. lol

nice little piece which I think should do well.

All the best
G

Wow! One would think you were the teacher instead of the author!! ;) ;) LOL! A number of folks have asked if this was based on one of my students....and then I really laughed. Let's just say being a fantasy writer has it's advantages...like, this, for instance....LOL! ;);) Thanx for dropping by, G -- much appreciated! ;) ;) Yvette

What a fantastic story! Is it fiction? Or biographical? The category you chose didn't make this clear to me. Either way, it is a wonderful tale of nine-year-old Robbie and his talented journalism. The fact that you put the gist of his accomplishment in exactly 100 words is amazing. The photo you chose was perfect to focus on while reading the story. I like the added touch that he glued the articles onto recycled bin paper. Very thrifty and eco-conscience too. Thank you for sharing this enthusiastic achievement done by Robbie. Well written with a very happy ending.
Take care, Jesse

Oh, this is definitely made up while I graded and did other 'mom/teacher' things...not a bit of 'names changed to protect the innocent' to this one, sir! :) ;) I had fun with this 'reality write' as opposed to my preferred fantasy....of course, given the overall attitude of teens today, let's just say this might be a bit of fantasy in itself! ;) LOL! ;) Thanx so much for all your time on this one -- oh, and that photo? Karma gave it to me on my first search -- was late that night and I was just ready to be done! ;) ;) Take care, Sir Jesse, and have an awesome weekend! ;) ;) Yvette :)

Oh, I agree that there is only a slight difference between reality and fantasy. One crosses the line with the other. This was a very good write, either way. I am glad that Karma brought that photo to you. It worked wonders. Have a great weekend, yourself!

What an enterprising young boy. He made it easier for the residents of the assisted living facility to read the news and made a little money while he was at it. This took a little ingenuity to come up with. Good luck in the contest.

This is a great story Yvette! I think it is wonderful when any young man starts off young and has some direction that you can say there (right there he started there). It is a wonderful achievement. Congratulations to Robbie or the Robbie like children out there that make there path so clear! Cheers, Fonda

Good man of the future, Yvette. Guess if motivation is in the air Little Robbie will be a millionaire. You got the count, the story (a great one too) and my vote so far. :) I glad there are young people that strive to succeed. Thank you for sharing. This is a good entry for the 100 Words writing Contest.

A very well-written hundred word flash fiction about a clever boy who notices a way to help others and also make a few bugs for himself. It is great entrepreneur ship and a winning idea.

Hi Yvette, I like this one... very entrepreneurial. There aren't a lot of kids like that these days. The little guy in the picture is a cutie though! I bet he'll do well... ;)

LOL! :) ;) And you are Sooooooo RIGHT about the 'aren't many' .... probably not something good to get a teacher started after being with teens all day...LOL! ;) :) But, we can continue to hope! :) Thanx for the review, Susan! ;) Take care! :)

Hi Yvette,

Ha ha ha. Good one. This is great flash fiction, and a most excellent contest entry! Best of luck to you in the booth, my friend.

The image of the studious-looking little fellow is quite appropriate and effective in complementing your work.

Thanks for sharing,

This one-hundred-word story, Reprinted with Permission, meets the required word count and tells a fun story of an enterprising and helpful kid. Neat.
