Hi Jenny. Thanks for the lovely comments. I really like chickadees and just had to write a verse about them. I appreciate your read and review!!

I enjoyed your conversation with the chickadee in these rhymed quatrains. A few months ago, my husband put a bird feeder on our deck, but it took until the recent cold of winter for the birds to be drawn to it. Now, we have daily visits from "brave" chickadees and blue jays, who, by the way, do not mingle! Smiles- Joan

Hi Joan.... a fellow birdwatcher!! I love it. I like chickadees in their little black caps and I wanted to showcase them in a verse. I am delighted that you liked it.
All the best,
Melissa

Yes, the "cape and cap" of the chickadee was gorgeously showcased and reinforced by your great photograph. In fact, I am looking at two of the creatures nibbling seeds on my deck right now--they are braving the rain! Cheers- Joan

The photo is a perfect partner to this cute little poem. Your rhyming quatrains are precious to describe a little bird feeding out of the hand of a human. Well done!

I love birds. Anything from a chook in the coop to a hawk flying high. And I love to feed them. This sweet little creature is ready for breakfast. Sunflower seeds are so warming for birds as a nourishing food. They are so trusting when they know you won't hurt them. I have had sparrows come and flit around my head when I had crumbs for them. Do you have Willy Wagtails? They are dear little black and white birds that become so trusting they will do as this one has and sit on your hand to take food. This poem is delightful. Written by a bird lover I am sure. Telling of a moment spent in Nature during the cold of winter well done Cass

I do love birds, Cass... I have downloaded the Cornell University app called Merlin and I use it to identify the birds here in central Virginia. I am delighted to share this love of nature with you too!! Thanks so much for the wonderful review.

This is so cute, and I love the artwork. It doesn't take much to get a bird to eat some food. They overcome any fear of a human if there's a chance to get some sunflower seeds. Charming poem, and excellent rhyme. judi

I love your Rhyming Quatrains poem about you tempting the chickadees to feast from a bird fender and slowly attract them to eat from you hand
